Hello everyone,
My name is Travis, and I’m located in Central Texas. I’ve been interested in audio for many years, but lately I’ve been putting more time into building a system that delivers the kind of sound I really enjoy—strong imaging, natural detail, and satisfying bass, even at low-to-moderate listening levels.
My current two-channel system includes two Bowers and Wilkins 705 S3 speakers (soon to be replaced with Sonus Faber Guarneri G5 on order), a McIntosh C12000 preamplifier, a McIntosh MCD12000, working with the Mcintosh MC301 and several amplifiers I enjoy experimenting with, including a Parasound JC5, Luxman C-10x and M-10X, and Buckeye Purifi Mono Blocks, I also have a Marantz Cinema 30-based home-theater system, so I’m always interested in finding the best way to integrate music and theater without compromising the two-channel side.
I am currently looking for new floor-standing speakers, as I just sold my Polk Audio L800s.
My musical tastes are fairly broad, although hard rock gets played quite often. Outside of audio, I work in video production and have a similar appreciation for well-designed cameras, lenses, and production equipment.
I joined AudioShark to learn from everyone’s experience, exchange ideas, and hopefully contribute wherever I can. I’m especially interested in system matching, amplifier and speaker comparisons, room setup, and getting excellent performance at realistic listening levels.
I look forward to getting to know everyone and becoming part of the community.
