I love music and I'm here to share thoughts and ideas concerning the audio experience. I've been on other forums where I was attacked for asking a polite question about something I was ignorant of. Most of you would consider my system "lo-end;" I'm fine with that as I've probably seen more live performances than most.
I hope we can share opinions without condescension or derision! ;)
Thanks for having me!

Welcome to the forum. I am also in the lower-to-middle $$ range of the audio equipment spectrum. Although a lot of the people here have systems that I can only dream of, I have never been talked down to because of my ignorance of all things audio. Besides, your definition of low-end might differ from mine or anyone else's, and in the end it doesn't matter - if you enjoy listening to music through your system - you are well ahead of the game.

While here, I have learned a great deal about the singular importance of power delivery to the equipment as the foundation for everything else. I don't believe that I've seen this hammered home as much on other forums.

Do tell - what machine are you using to produce that beautiful crema?

Hello & welcome. You've come to the right place.

If anything, we could use members with more diverse systems. Myself I started with modest gear, not really even a "system", so I have a decent system it took many years, really it took me having the income, LOL My system is modest now compared to some here but no one makes what you have an issue.

Thanks for the welcome! Much like my audio gear, I seek the best bang for the buck. I roast all my coffee on a Fresh Roast 800, usually Colombian bean roasted dark, not quite French roast. This is responsible for tons of crema! I brew with a pair of Saeco Barista units which I have reconditioned. Grinder is a very used, modded, Fiorinzato t80.

My lo-fi system is:
Denon dp-47 turntable with Ortofon OM-20
Denon DRA 697 two channel receiver
Denon DCM-550
Polk PSW-50 sub
Polk RTA 8T speakers
Pioneer PDR-555RW CD recorder
Chi-fi Blue Heaven speaker cables

Aaaah, the morning coffee! My ritual: 1) turn on the espresso machine, 2) use the restroom, 3) start the pot of coffee, 4) take morning meds, 5) grind espresso and pull shots 6) repeat step 5 a time or two.

I had two Saeco Baristas, and I believe the second one was an identical unit but Starbucks branded. They each lasted over ten years, which is very impressive for such a relatively inexpensive unit. I am currently using a Lelit Elizabeth, but lusting after the Bianca. Grinders: Baratza Virtuoso for coffee and Sette 270 for espresso.

Sorry, I didn't mean to derail your first forum submission. If you have any questions about all things audio, you have found a great resource here.

JCS123 - Here I thought you'd describe tracking some vinyl while pulling shots! Glad to hear I'm not the only one getting some mileage out of these Barista machines. Some day I'd like to move into a dual boiler with two shower heads... I can dream. And no, you didn't derail my post. Your Lelit Elizabeth looks awesome.
Morning ritual here is pulling two shots into a vintage heavy diner mug like a Wallace or Victor, grabbing some Choclove 77% and walking the dogs while enjoying the sunrise over the mountains. After 2 Ristretto shots, I'm wired! Rather envious that you can tolerate more!
