Hate speech in the audio community

No politics, no personality but out right hate speech must be called out. I was sent yesterday a screen shot of a FB post by a company making racks, amp stands and TT weights in Canada. THis was a vile antisemitic post. I am a Jew and I can't let this stand without calling it out. I was a dealer for this brand, I liked this brand, I think his products and well made and attractive however I will not represent, sell or suggest his gear ever again. Never again is right now and words have consequences . He has the right to speak and I have the right to call it out. I will not repost his vile post but I do have the screen shot.
I can not and will not support hate and antisemitism in any form.

Unfortunately Elliot it has been allowed to become mainstream and is being openly taught and advocated.

Just look at what is going on in the schools and universities with the protests and the stalking and violence against Jewish students. You couldn't pay me to be in NYC which is the epicenter of it. Just look at the public positions their terrorist new mayor (his father is literally one) and his wife have taken on this issue. Look at the fact she has openly contributed to that hateful cause.

And the fact the press now has a new name for it: "anti-Israel" as opposed to what it really is: antisemitism.

Remember 1930's Germany: they first got all the university elites on their side and moved from there. Just as Lenin and Stalin did.

Yes I agree but what AI am talking about is right here in our own hobby. It is right here from clients that bought his products that are Jews. It is right here in OUR community , one where we share a love of music. THis is disgusting and hateful and needs to be called out and stopped. I am sorry but I am pissed off and I am compelled from my Grandparents and my Mother to speak out!

Agreed. I'm saying it's widespread so it of course it is now in our hobby as well. It's scary that he was openly so vocal about it and believes it is acceptable.

It will be interesting if there is any widespread condemnation of him in the audio industry. I'm afraid there will not be. Condemnation seems to only be reserved for the approved topics. Unfortunately this isn't one of the approved topics.

Have you also posted this on WBF to help spread the word?

Looks like a big thread on that company was started a while back by Captain Shill.

Accordingly I'm sure your post there will be swiftly deleted and based on their history might get you banned for talking truth.
 
This is not about the product or the thread its straight up hate speech and that can't be tolerated anywhere and its too close to home when its our own industry. I think Mr. Doyle forgets who many of his customers are . I know the ones I have won't ever forget him now

We live in very polarizing and disturbing times. Yes, the 1st Amendment gives the right for free speech; however, what is gained by anyone for spreading hate?

In the case of a business owner that pushes hate messaging, it shows ignorance and the lack of any business sense. He just lost the respect of potential clients in a relatively small community.

Good for you Elliot for dropping him as a product maker in your portfolio

The fact that the owners of WBF removed the post suggests maybe they agree with it.

I saw your post - there was nothing for them to deem worth deleting.

The only thing as bad as the people who espouse what he did is the people who help protect him.

Hate speech should be called out and the purveyors of bigotry should be condemned and marginalized regardless of who they are or who they target. Free speech doesnt mean what we say is, or should be, free of consequences. The fact that people seem to feel more comfortable spreading hatred and bigotry is, to say the least, discouraging.
 
Elliot - I really think you should post the screenshot.

He posted it on FB for all to see. You posting it here isn't inappropriate.

I think people REALLY need to see this.

They must support it then. Their advertisers should be aware of this behavior. Do they support it too? Disgusting. If we don’t make a stand against antisemitism, this will continue. This has been going on for generations and needs to stop - NOW. Those supporting this behavior need to be called out.

I don't believe they support it however they are strange with what things and subjects are ok and what isn't. I don't think Steve W would support such but they are weird with what can and can't appear.
I do agree that what lives in the shadows can fester if it isn't brought into the light. I am always the bad guy so I guess that is my purpose :)

Well that’s good. But I think deleting it is in a sense a form of toleration or at a minimum ignorance. This is audio related: an audio company posted this hate.
