Thanks a lot Mike !
Sounding wonderful but I have a problem in the bass on some recordings.
Will explain later on. I have to work on the position and I need to get PAB Anti Vibration Feet to replace the little spikes on the Skylan stands....
Paul's wife doesn't care !!!!! View attachment 5212
The Harbeth : Please don't judge a book by its cover also If you have an audition for 30 min ? You haven't listen to them yet. You do have to bring your album's and sit tight for at least more than an hour.![]()
STILLPOINT, has a new product that is a threaded insert that can either be installed in the bottom of a speaker or in the top of a speaker stand (which in your case you would need to get a machine shop to drill out the top of your metal stands. Once that is done, you can than screw in the STILL POINT INSERT, and than screw in the STILL POINT SS.. Once you place your speaker on the STILL POINT SS, your speakers will be totally decoupled from your stand, I than believe your bass will improve DRAMATICALLY........ If you don't want to go thru all that, you might want to try some STILL POINT SS, or the STILL POINT ULTRA 5's under your stand . FINALLY if you really want to try and max out your performance with the HARBETHS, try putting either the SS, or the ULTRAS 5'S under the stands, and than some STILL POINT SS's under the speakers. Than you will not only be isolating the stand from the floor, but the speaker from the stand. Should give dramatic results , not only in better bass, but other areas of improvement as well.
Highly agreed. Those are speakers that grow on you with time. After just 6 days with them now, I can say that they are just the very best speakers I ever heard. They are dynamic, juicy, neutral, balanced, groovy, rocking, sweet, resolved.....but their highest beauty lies in the fact that they sound very precisely like live music. They are the SUPREMELY natural speakers.
You forget all the others when you listen to them.
Is that Paul's wife Andre! :exciting:
Paul, I forgot to say that you played a BIG role in this purchase. When you told me that " mids of IB2i are good but not as good as the Harbeths !"
A bulb lighted in my brains. Better mids than PMC ???? Let's go !
Oh no i just noticed it's my wife :reallymad:
Very true and 80% of the MUSIC is in the mids, that's why i own Acoustat's
great quote Jerome. being single again for the last couple years suddenly gives me more time and money to work on my stereo.lmao!!
beautiful gear in those pics, a great assortment of new and some vintage mixed in. congrats on those harbeths, i did hear a pair once and my first thought was awesome sound, huge bass, my second though was, where would i put them. way too big for my room.lol.
The 40.1 help me big time to entertain me and think about something else. Their sound is both ultra natural and ultra resolved. I am rediscovering all my recordings.
They are a joy to listen to.
Paul, I wonder what you were looking for when you sold them. They are just M A R V E L L O U S.
Now listening to Joni Mitchell 's Blue, and she is with me in the room. The guitars are incredibly realist.
The sound of the Harbeths is the one of authenticity.
Pure pure bliss.
They are fast and full weighted at the same time. Transparent and detailed. Warm and neutral. Intimate and huge. *They seem to take all the paradoxes of audio and melt them in a magic coktail. And I'm drinking without limits.
I felt in love....again !
Oh my G., what a wonderful hobby !
Those are among the very very best speakers I ever heard.
At their list price, an absolute bargain. More a gift than a bargain indeed.
