Amazing how much happier I feel now that I can listen to my music again after 5 weeks. My AQ Niagara crapped out but it has been fixed and is working well again. Couldn’t work out why I felt such a lack of energy these last few weeks, but it should have been obvious :celebrate008_2:

Some leisure time budget sitting around unused, no wonder [emoji3].

There is actually some research on it: music can create happiness and relieve stress.

So did you quit listening to music because the AQ Niagara broke or you did listen and didn’t like what you heard?

i can relate.

many times i'm waiting for a new piece of my system to arrive. that is a normal type 'feeling' of anticipation. not any sort of loss of enjoyment.

but recently i had a couple of parts of my system 'fail'. (1) i had a power supply for my one of my active isolation 'Tana' platforms fail so could not use active isolation under my amps. i was used to enjoying that effect. it was gone. bummer. and (2) when moving around my 'zeel' interconnect from my pre to my amp i broke a piece of the connector. so i had to substitute a set of 7m RCA's i had for my regular interconnects. double-bummer.

(1) was gone for almost 3 months, (2) was gone for a month. finally a week ago at the same time both returned. i was surprised at how wonderful this made me feel, and realized that what was missing messed with my head for that time period. hard to know how much was the actual performance difference, and how much was knowing things were not optimal. but it was like a slight black cloud over things. and losing what i had was not good for my system enjoyment factor......however messed up that might be.

audio system nervosa for sure. i'm the poster boy for it.

When I got my new TT, I apparently must to have pushed the cart a bit, so the needle had to be re-aligned.

While I got the the cart back very quickly after the problem was found, it took me two weeks or so, and some friendly help, to identify the problem.

Those couple of weeks were a painful time, when I knew something was off, but could not identify the flaw.
