The pile of parts below is not done by someone who just plugs in T/S parameters into a computer program and says "Done".

The alligator clips are from when he was swapping values in / out... measuring... but I also suspect he had the network external and would swap values while doing the final measurement... Listening. And he makes reference to exactly that in the video.

The complete experience CANNOT be assigned a measurement value... one has to listen... and big credit to Oliver that he does.

I bet these DO sound pretty remarkable.

I've watched this sort of thing being done in real time... it happened to be with my Merlin VSM 2-ways with Dynaudio Esotar and Scan-Speak 8545.

Designers that really know what they are doing can look at the response like reading The Matrix... and know the direction to try. They also look at impedance, because it's got to interact with an amp - it's a system!

For my speakers, the final "swap" was a small resistor value change on the tweeter - the final tweak done by ear.

I can't afford them and I'm super happy with the path I'm headed down... but I'd love to hear a pair someday - in a good room.

In fact, I would MUCH prefer to hear these over the New Big Boys from Utah. People think the fancy "saw tooth" felt around the Wilson tweeters is good. Hey, it looks cool - right? Well, in fact, it's edge diffraction... and I have the measurements from my own Wilsons that prove it.

Oliver is doing it right and if they sound like I bet they do, I hope you sell a pile of them to whoever backs up a dump truck full of money.

A speaker that weighs in at 836 Lbs a piece ( and apparently cannot be broken down into smaller sections) is something that I suspect any owner will tire of immensely as time goes by! Any time you want to move these monsters, it is going to be a task that will need an advance plan...and professional movers. Why would anyone want these in their home environment?? Nevermind the potential for danger if one of the monsters falls onto someone!! Wow. As they say...'not my cup of tea'.Regardless of how they might sound!

They are certainly not for everyone. But I suspect anyone who spends this amount of coin is going to have their eyes wide open and know what they are getting into.

the speaket is quite symmetrical. Center of gravity is around the tweeter level. I dont think it will be easily tilted over.

What is the purpose of your post?

You know nothing about how it sounds, how hard or simple it is to move, the risk of moving these "monsters" YET BRAZENLY state that "ANY OWNER" will tire of immensely as time goes by! LMAO

After reading your post, "ANY READER" can only assume you have a hard on for those more capable than yourself, "REGARDLESS" of how you sound to yourself in your self-anointed commentary.
 
some basic information on speakers
They are supposed to be stationary and stable. Once set u why are they going to be moved all the time.
The speakers are really really hard to knock over unless perhaps you invite Shaq, Barkley and Dick Butkus to run into them at the same time.
I always enjoy how those who cant and dont want to piss on those that do and can.
 
Goebel speakers are excellent. A properly setup pair with the right gear feeding them could/would be destination speakers. And, BTW, once setup there’s no need to move them.

Congrats to the new owner.

what an absurd comment. Speakers are falling over all over the world, it's an epidemic, everyone go take shelter, buy helmets and raise your insurance.
Sir you couldn't knock it over if you tried. when you say ridiculous things you will get feedback.

This from a dealer. Question to consider is this: how practical is a speaker that weighs in at over 800 lbs, cannot be separated for ease of lift/ movement and will require a professional mover every time one wants to move it? anywhere!
Remember, this product is supposedly designed for the home environment.
Sure, there will be folk who can arrange to have it moved by the pros every time, have ballroom size rooms for it to reside in..and are not concerned with how tippy it might be. Personally, and this is certainly my opinion, which is what I have been posting all along( and this obviously ruffles feathers with folks who are here to shill), I would never entertain such a product. Not because I couldn’t afford to, but because there are so many other far more user friendly products available.
