GigaFoil v4 Inline Ethernet Filter

What is the relative contribution of the GigaFoil unit, the power supply, and the upgraded Ethernet cable going from the GigaFoil unit to the streamer?

Thank you

The upgraded power supply gives the GigaFoil upgraded performance which removes 99.9% of noise in the line and from there offer the best cable to deliver the cleanest signal to the DAC. At least that's how I understand it.

I received the Keces P3 yesterday and only had a little time to listen last night. Immediately I noticed a lower noise floor again, not a blacker background that depends on the recording IMO, but more depth into each note adding more air. It's an unexpected yet impressive improvement. I'm still using the Transparent cable until the others arrive.

From Audio Junkie to Audio Junkie.
The internet signal reaches the kitchen of my house transported in fiber optics. It reaches the device that transforms the fiber optic signal and transmits it to the Router.
Both devices are powered by an LPSU of Kenneth Lau, which in turn is powered by a Shunyata Alfa NR cable to the wall. Each of these two devices has an Entreq Eartha Apollo Infinity RJ45 cable and goes to an Entreq Silver Minimus box. The connection between these two devices is made by an AQ Diamond cable.
Now from the Router comes a Cinnamon AQ cable that goes through the wall to the living room, where is the Aqvox Switch. This is powered by a second LPSU of Kenneth Lau, which in turn is powered by a Shunyata Alpha NR cable that goes to a Shunyata Denali socket. From the Aqvox comes an Entreq Eartha Olympus Infinity RJ45 cable, which goes to an Olympus Minimus box (next week I'll exchange it for an Olympus Infinity).
As my LPSU Kenneth Lau has the floating output, in the connector that enters the Aqvox is joined another connector of a cable Entreq Eartha Apollo Infinity with a Schuko false connector that goes to the wall and puts the Aqvox to ground.
Who said that this hobby was not fun!:D

I just have to say HELL YEA, Thats the way to do a digital signal.

Ken, on other threads we have gone around about the Roon Nook vs a better server. If you can hear an improvement by adding a better PS to your Nook, can you see why I advocate a better server than a Nook.

If you use direct Ethernet connection to the DAC, PS to the server running Roon Core is irrelevant.

When ken has a chance he can disconnect the LPS from the nuc and see if he hears a difference. I'm truly interested to know

The P8 on the Nucleus made a big difference for me.

FWIW, i have read up a bit on the latest Nooks and they seem to be paying attention to good design. I still dont think it's a Innuos Statement. But it does look to be well designed and quiet.

One possible factor in this is whether the SMPS contaminate the AC (that affects everything and is extremely important) or not.

Good point.

When I used SMPS on Nucleus, it was on a separate AQ Niagra 1000 conditioner as other equipments, which are on Denali 6000T. Now I use Keces on Nucleus. Connection is ethernet direct to MSB DAC and Nucleus just runs Roon Core only.

If there’s a difference between SMPS and Keces IN MY CONFIGURATION, it’s insignificant and I didn’t notice any.

When you say the SMPS, are you talking about the wall wart or something else?

I heard a bigger difference replacing the Nucleus wall wart with the P8 than I did with the P3 on the GigaFoil, which was also a nice jump in performance.

I meant wall wart, Mike. Keces I now use on Nucleus is P3. But I’m strictly talking about streaming Tidal, which I now use 100%.

Gotcha.

Out of curiosity, I order an AQVOX SE, which should arrive next week. Can’t wait to find out if it plays nice with Gigafoil. It will first replace my Apple router + Teddy 12VDC.

I noticed improvement from both the P3 and the P8 but I think a little more from the P3, as the GigaFoilv4 is the last line of defense.
