Has anyone used it & what are your thoughts. I like the idea of using water but am well aware of the force & degradation that water has.

sharkmouth has too many letters.... :D

The Gem Dandy is just about the messiest method for cleaning records that there is. I guess if you have a dedicated shower stall with shelves for doing work, etc. then it might be ok.

I had a Gem Dandy a few years ago and cleaned a sum total of one record in the kitchen sink before I realized I had water everywhere in the kitchen (well, my wife realized for me). I then hooked it up outside on the back porch and cleaned another two or three records. Even wearing sandals, shorts and a t-shirt that day I was still soaked when I got done.

Those four or so records didn't sound all that great until I ran them through my VPI-17 a year later. They now play much better.

Well sheesh Mike, now how am I going to get 200 clams to perform the same as 4000 clams as in ultrasonic. Ah well looks like time to pony up for an ultrasonic cleaner!
