Gauder RC7 MK2

In the last years Accuton has largely improved the power handling capabilities of their ceramic drivers. Also my dealer "shoot" in the past some Accuton drivers, but no bad news since Accuton changed their drivers some years ago.

At the Munich show we were listening the Gauder speakers with Vitus electronics at 110 db - without any auditible distorsion!

@Audiophon, yeah they were an old pair of Martens. I believe one of the changes they've made to newer generation Accutons is to increase the gap of the mesh screen to avoid damaging the ceramic cone, and to allow for greater linear movement.

Ben,

Thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate it. That's what it's all about.

Hello Audiophon,
you wanted to listen to the Vitus SS-025 and the SS-101/102 at home. How was it? I am going to listen to Vitus RCD 100 and RI 100 at home in two weeks.

Thanks,
Dirk

Hi Dirk,

Yes, I wanted to ask the local Vitus importer for an audition of the SS 102 at home to substitute my current Pass monos. I am really a fan of Vitus and I took some long listening sessions at the Munich fair last year and this year and was really overwelmed by their sound (much better compared to the AVM electronics in Gauder's own room). However, by the end of last year I had a listening at home of the Grandinote Demone preamplifer at home. I was so floored by the qualities of this Pre that it never left my home since...

Meanwhile we got our second kid and the hobby now comes second.... so for now, no auditioning of the Vitus at home.

Which amps did you try with your Gauder?

Martin

Very interesting and ... crazy early prototypes of new line Gauder speakers -as a exaple Berlina RC-7 made from ... aluminum and covered by pure gold leaves. (more photos on Soundrebels)

... very very special I would say ;-) Maybe more for the eastern markets that for the genuin European taste....

I guess I know the guy who's making the gold and chrome finish: take a look on the homepage of Westend-Audio ;-)

The owner of Westend-Audio also has a company making all the gold and chrome finishes for Burmester, AVM and the old Isophon/Gauder speakers ... and the guy is also a Gauder dealer - I'm sure you met him already ;-)

My friend Stefan...

He's the guy who is doing the chrome and golden enclosures of the Gauder speakers. Instead of MDF the ripped enclosure is now made of pure aluminium rips!

How about spike bases or tuning feet? I tried Harmonix RF 900 Mk2 with my RC7 Mk2 Diamond, didnt like it, to lean, no dynamics. The sound was dull.

I use the original spikes with a granite base below. The granite base is decoupled with air-filled feet from the the wooden floor to avoid the floor from vibrating.

It works pretty well and it's a relatively cheap solution.

Great speakers. Thanks to Kuoppis, I had the privilege of spending time with Dr. Gauder at Munich. Very nice man. Passionate.

New baby in Gauder family - Darc 4 prototype. Full aluminum enclosure, diamond tweeter and ... 70 kg each. After few hours of listening I like them much, very much :-D - Full Coverage

Thanks for sharing! So they seem to build up a new line, interesting...

I just had my Berlina RC 7 Diamond upgrade at the factory to the MK II version and are really happy.

Looking at the size of the speaker they seem similar to the Vescova diamond.

How do they compare to the Cassiano or the Berlina series?? Can you please comment on the sound?

Have they already fixed a msrp??

Thanks!

Last weekend I went to a show. Vitus Audio was there. Using Gauder Speakers. It sounded wonderful. I did not ask what the set costs. I saw 4 huge mono amps.

While the set sounded great. I did think the Gauder speaker were a bit ugly. If I were to guess the speakers were the RC7.

Hans Ole Vitus is a very friendly man. All of his products are way too expensive for me.
