Thanks Jack. I don't know why on earth the Odyssey amps aren't on more folks radar. They are priced right and sound a lot better than they should!
My Lumin distributor has been after me to bring in the Apertura's.
I heard the ProAc's at one or two of the shows last year. Quite nice.
I really like Nola's too. Very musical.
Still bouncing around ideas. I really appreciate your ideas. Thank you. [emoji173]️
Mike,
Have you given Tidal speakers any consideration? For me, the sound of the Tidal Piano Cera (which is actually their entry level floorstander) was the most unforgettable experience of RMAF 2014. They are stellar sounding.

Wow, you even consider B&M? That is a great brand!! In Europe they have an odd way of direct distribution, I think they organize demos in different cities. But it is an amazing lie-up. All active top-notch speakers. Of course with B&W you can't go wrong but why would you do that next to Focal? I think these are the two major high-end speaker manufacturers with both a complete collection from affordable to very expensive. I don't think I would do that although I love B&W too of course. So what would you suggest as a third speaker brand? Wilson, B&W, SF and many others require B&M
Mike, how about Audio Note? It seems no dealer in FL and entire dealer network in North America could use some expansion. Plus it's quite different than Focal or LV.
Another brand that maybe worth considering is GamuT. Heard their top of the line standmounts RS3 today (with GamuT amp, pre and CD player) and I can confidently say it's the best standmounts I've ever heard. Very emotionally engaging.
The Sound Organisation has been appointed as the new ProAc distributor in the US, but their website has not yet been updated accordingly. They are no longer handling PMC speakers. Here's an article confirming the announcement.Another option if they have straightened out their distributor issues is ProAc.
I don't know either Mike other than the lack of a dealer network. What most people don't realize is that originally Odyssey amps were sold through a dealer network. Audio Connection and Upscale were both dealers among others. I bought my first Odyssey amp from a dealer and it was his floor unit. When I wanted info that the dealer couldn't provide to integrate the amp with the Vandersteen subs I called Klaus directly. That was 1999 and we have been friends ever since. At one point he was even considering moving from Indy to Tampa, but changed his mind and sold the property he bought there. He has always had the full backing and support of SL and uses their parts in most of his amps. His first speaker model, which I have, is an exact copy of a SL design with the cabinets make in Indy. As JV has said in many of his reviews the Odyssey gets you most of the way to Solution sound for a fraction of the cost. As it is Klaus is backed up on orders months out. Whether you are interested in buying his gear or not it is worth seeking him out at shows for the conversation alone. One of the true characters in the audio business and a man who was in medical school before he met Rolf on a visit back to Germany to see family and changed careers.
He is absolutely a character! I bought my Symphonic Line monos and CDP from him, and whenever I call him with a question I make sure to set aside an hour because the conversation can easily run that long. And the conversation often turns to things other than audio. I think he also has a degree in political science - a true Franklinesque/Renaissance Man kind of guy with all sorts of interests, who cusses like a sailor too!

John at Wellington Audio in West Palm Beach was an AK dealer last I looked. Also Rega, Harbeth and Reynaud.
The only other amp I've had in the house with the Revels is the Plinius SB-301. That was a damn fine amp too, pretty dynamic with great bass. The SL monos are better, but given the price disparity they should be. The SB-301 retail new around $11K but can be found for around $5K used, and are absolutely a good find in that price range.
Also have heard the Salons with the ML 532 stereo amp as well as the 532H. The 532 was great on small-scale acoustic music and had really nice tonality, but it wasn't particularly dynamic on rock or symphonic material. The 532H was just OK I thought - didn't really move me.

Considering what you have I think Backes & Müller would be a perfect complementary addition.
