...As for badly formatted pages, a screenshot will be appreciated.

a few screenshots of the FUBARness...

oooops -- after clicking the insert image button the pop-up window only has the functionality to point to a url for -- the ability to upload a pic from your computer is now missing.

almost every aspect of the site is now for me FUBAR!!!!! i am not experiencing this on other web-site including on using the same forum software.

If you want to upload a pic from your computer, you can can click "MANAGE ATTACHMENT" instead of IMG link button.

We had this functionality until yesterday and its now removed due to the requests of other members as you can read above. They simply wanted to have full images, not attachments when they point to a image in a third party site.

So now:
* images to the third party sites is brought here via INSERT IMAGE button
* Images loaded from your computer is brought here as attachments via MANAGE ATTACHMENTs button.

re: image insertion -- before all the "upgrades" one could simply use the inset image button and it would create an attachment as well as display the full image -- looks like now you have to go advanced, manage attachments, upload ...and, then all that is displayed is the clickable thumbnail... so, now every time you want to view an image someone includes as an attachment (from a browser) you have to click the thumbnail and wait for it to load in a pop-up or even another tab -- this new feature is not very helpful / user friendly for those of us accessing the site via a browser.

fwiw: other forums provide for the insertion of image by simple drag-and-drop as well as copy-and-paste when using a browser -- not sure why that is/was not possible.

anyway, attached are screenshots of the FUBARness -- not a web developer but it seems to be some error/bug in the HTML code is failing and causing pages to not load completely or at all -- just my guess.

...Discourse is good, I’m just not keen on it’s layout.

might spend some time on a site using discourse such as the roon community site -- once i got used to the UI, i actually quite like it ...and, it has more useful and user-friendly functionality.

not trying to be a troublemaker -- its just if you are spending time and resources to implement / troubleshoot the current software then at some point it might make sense to consider another software vendor (with a more modern product).

I'm trying to produce the display problem you are having but I am not able to.

I tested with latest version safari on an ipad and page displays are fine for me.

Could you please try these:
1- On your safari, go to the end of the page, and on the bottom right you'll see a pulldown menu (BLueDemon/Default Mobile Style). Please change that (if its BlueDemon, make it Default mobile style and if its default mobile style, change it to BlueDemon). Let's see if it will help.
2- Please try visiting site with another browser on your Mac (eg. chrome) and let me know if its also displaying the pages wrong.
3- What about a different device? Eg. how the page looks if you visit from your iphone/ipad safari?

If any other Mac/safari users here, I'd also like to hear from them if they have a similar display problem or not.

thanks for looking at this!

1. seems to be OK when switching to default mobile style. toggling back to blue daemon still produces the same bad page loads

2. safari is the only browser i have installed -- maybe other using safari can tell us if there are any page loading issues?

3. loading on safari on an iphone seems otobe OK w/ both blue daemon and default mobile styles -- i did get on slightly bad page load with blue daemon (bad background loading but text and boxes, buttons, were OK) but was unable to reproduce it with many attempts at that page and others

note: i don't have any prior experience with default mobile style but things at least seemed OK

So its seems its somehow related to your Mac's safari. I'm not a Mac/Safari guy so I'm not able to tell you how you can do these but cleaning cookies and especially "cache" in your safari could really help.

Until that, you can also use "mobile style" but its pretty limited, you can't access certain pages (eg. your user forum settings page) with mobile style so it would be a good idea to use it temporarily.

You can also try a different browser on your mac. As far as I know Chrome and Firefox exists in apple store and they are free. Please try to install one of those and you can browse the site with them until safari issue is fixed.

Unfortunately I'm not able to help more than that but I strongly believe its somehow related to the safari in your mac (and I suspect "safari cache" very strongly). :) If there were a general problem with safaris, safari in your iphone or in my ipad would also have the same problem.
