Yea, I know that is a big consideration.
I do not believe that the impedance is an issue. The KEFs are "rated" at 8 ohm, but I have read reviews where tests were completed and it was stated they could have been rated at 6 ohm even possibly closer to 4 ohm. The real concern is that they are 89 db efficiency. They work extremely well with the Audio Mirror SET amplifiers, which are rated at 45 watts. The 18 watt SIT-3 may be pushing it, but I also do not listen to music loud often and am very much more concerned with smoothness and accuracy.
I do know that when I had the First Watt F6, which is rated at 25/50 WPC, I had the Music Culture speakers which are 4 ohm 85 db efficiency. The F6 got plenty loud enough for me and was very dynamic. This leads me to believe that the SIT-3 probably might work for me with the KEFs.
It is frustrating that they are in such limited quantities because this is one amplifier I would absolutely love to check out. But it is what it is and as it is now the SET mono blocks are great and the T+A makes a very nice SS backup!
