Finally setup my Triode Corporation TRX-M845 Monoblocks ....

I do absolutely love them. I've been losing sleep every night just like when the ART monos and Revel Studio2's were playing. That was a great combo, this is it for me. :heart: Between the Triodes and Ayre MXR-20's, All the bases are covered for me. YMMV!

Guys anyone familiar with line magnetic 508 amplifier?
Do you think will handle Harbeth 30.1. Any humm or too much gain?

That should be a great combo. You will love the amp. Giant tubes sound awesome!

Congrats Joe! These amps look, and from what you describe, sound, absolutely gorgeous. You are one lucky guy! You have all the bases covered, the best of tube, solid state and hybrid amplification. You know you have struck gold when you are pulling all night listening sessions. There's something very special about experiencing audio magic in the wee small hours of the morning. Enjoy the ride, my friend!

Thank you so much.

I have some thinking to do. I believe I've found my destinations. The Triode Corp TRX-M845's for tubes and the Ayre MXR-20 monos (with matching Ayre preamp at some point in the future). I am extremely lucky to have found gear that takes away the jonesing for more.

I can imagine that your system sounds amazing. You are indeed lucky too. Thank you for your advice and thoughts along the way. Not being able to turn off a system in order to get some sleep is an amazing feeling. I hope everyone gets to experience it.

I haven't yet. I am so torn about what to do. I just found these tubes and not sure if I should order 6 of these treasure select pair (link below) or 2 - WE845 and 4 of them or just go with 6 - WE845.

Any input from you guys would be most appreciated :D

Ive found the power amps to be great, really powerful and great set like characteristics that i love...... it projects vocals wonderfully.The pre is taking a little while to break in, but its getting there.

in my system the 845s are sounding better than the 211. The 211's sound louder and stronger, whereas the 845's sound a bit more romantic.

im in the same boat re tubes. I think in the first instance we have to try the new black 845's as they are on special while they are 'new'. Also i would probably only change the 2 output tubes, no need to change the third.

Have you changed the smaller tubes - it makes a big difference.

Congratulations on the beautiful setup! I also have the Triode monos. They are special for sure! I've rolled more than a few 12AU7's and narrowed it down to Brimar or Ciftè, with the edge going to the Cifté.

As far as 6SN7 I rolled a couple of well regarded NOS which all sounded so so compared to the Treasure Globe 6SN7-SE which is my daily driver now. The treasure globe is just does everything right and sounds the most musical to me.

I am also considering upgrading the power tubes most likely the WE replicas. . May I ask how you come to the conclusion only the power tubes are more important to upgrade and not the drivers? Thanks.

Hi Elem,

no my logic was to replace the 2 output tubes and not the power rectification tube as you will hear more difference that way. Whatever my logic, its more about not having to buy another 2 tubes at $700 a pair :D

I'm currently running some nos 6sn7 and 12au7, will look into getting all new stuff from Rachel at Grant.

I already strted to worry, that you are somehow slowing down, lol.
