Finally at home in our new house!

I say, cancel it, let AM Express deal with it and order your amp from another dealer, maybe from your old home area.

Mc has super strict territorial rules. We are talking like 50 mile radius stuff.

Also, since they have the very generous trade in program going on I had to make my purchase from an authorized B&M store. This amplifier is sold through their online dealers, however these dealers are not part of their trade-in program. Needless to say, McIntosh was not happy.

They (McIntosh) called me back and said that they have passed along the information to the factory representative that serves dealers in this region. They expect him to be giving me a call. If he allows for the same deal and will stop by and deliver the amp, taking the old one with him, maybe I can get it straight from him. At this point, with my knee replacement, I cannot install the new amp into my rack. If Thomas had ordered it on 5/1, as was originally agreed upon, then it would have arrived in time for me to install it myself, however he said he would deliver and install the amp. This is quite curious since he never ordered it????

Concerning the knee replacement; the knee is getting there; still stiff and I do not have full range of motion yet but improving. I have follow-up with the doctor next week and will probably start discussing the second one and planning it out. Hopefully in 6-8 months or so my knees will be back to normal, and I can start really enjoying retirement in our new home!

So let me get this straight: The online dealers had an advantage over the B&M dealers?

The world is changing indeed.

Have you talked to this Thomas fellow or are your calls going dark?

The B&M stores have the advantage in this case because they can do the McIntosh trade in program. McIntosh only allows taking advantage of their trade-in program through B&M dealers.

Contacts with Thomas have gone dark over the past couple of weeks. This is why I called McIntosh and then American Express. I was furious when I realize he has been lying to me. I cannot understand how he could take my money and then simply not order the amplifier. His singular purpose was to get the amp from McIntosh. No selling or demonstrating, etc., and he had the money up front so there was not even any money out lay on his part. One assumes that if a dealer is listed on McIntosh's website as an authorized B&M store that they would be fair to deal with. Probably why McIntosh is as furious over this as I am.

Sadly, I hear these stories all too often. Surprised Mc is allowing this. Not good.

I just talked with McIntosh on Friday. They did call me back after our initial conversation stating how upset they were about what happened. They said the information was relayed to the representative for this region and I should expect a call from him. They sounded really pissed about this. We will see how they handle it next week.

My believe is that they should honor the deal I made with their listed dealer and have the representative deliver it to my house and pick up the amplifier that is being traded. At this point I simply cannot install it in my rack with the knee replacement. (I would have been able to if it was ordered as originally promised.) I have the invoice showing it was paid for, the AE statement showing he got paid (AE has credited it back to me), a whole chain of e-mails showing the conversations with him, etc.

Very smart to use Amex Randy. I am so sorry this has happened to you. I hope everything works out for the better.
