Mike interesting "Appointment Only" you might have to inform your secretary at your real job, that you are relocating to your second job to run both businesses :D, I think you are going to be rather busy the first 2 or 3 months

I couldn't put "when my wife gets grumpy, you'll find me here."

Was too long. [emoji6]

Mike,

Make sure you keep lots of extra carpet tiles for when spikes cause havoc. Love the look of your door but I would worry about glass inviting smash and grab.

Just a thought. And sorry Mike, but does Brick and Mortar mean - Not by appointment only (the expected store hours) or does it mean not at my home?

I think as we (home based audio shops) grow sometimes a regular store makes more sense especially for our wives ;) But what is a regular store? I think things are starting to get blurred.

I think as we (audio shop owners) grow sometimes a regular store makes more sense 9especially for our wives!). But what is a regular store? I think things are starting to get blurred.

I'll probably be there a lot - like 20-30 hours a week, but unless you think someone is going to drive by and say to themselves, "hmmmm, today I feel like buying some Q7's", than it's by appointment only. If I sold TV's, Bose and that kind of stuff, regular hours would make sense. I live 3 minutes from the store as well.

In order to give the customer the demo they asked for, it also takes a little time to prepare. If I've got the M3's set up with Vitus and the client wants to come and hear S3 mk2's with VAC, I want to get everything setup for a proper demo. An appointment allows me to do this. These aren't "drive by and buy" products as you know.

But as I said, I think I will be there A LOT and at the end of the day, I'm so glad to be out of the house and in a proper retail environment. Already the interest from manufacturers, distributors and most importantly customers, has sky rocketed. I'm looking forward to hosting manufacturer sponsored events and more.

You may be surprised...that is exactly how I bought my first high end speakers...
Taking my bike for a run & rode past a store I had not been to...
Did a uturn...parked the bike ....walked in & listen to an expensive pair of speakers...
Loved them...rode home...sold the bike & bought the speakers...
I do miss the VFR 800 Honda though...

That's very rare in the age of research. But chances are, I'll be there, tweaking something. [emoji41]

Makes sense and how I would probably do things as well if my wife says she has had enough.

Anyways, really exciting stuff here and a huge congrats Mike.

A TT board/hockey table upstairs would be great for the other 20 hrs a wk .... :)

I bet ... :)

Mike can you tell us more about the store , 1 or 2 listening rooms, are you using Jim Smith ? doing anything special in regards to supply wiring, Acoustics ?

Most importantly , Wine Cellar, doubles on order ? :D

Regards ....

3 rooms - small (14 x 18), medium (16 x 25), large (18 x 25). The three sizes allows customers to hear different speakers in different sized rooms, and hopefully sizes close to what they have at home and hopefully answer the "will those speakers work" type questions.

Vicoustics completed a full scale measurement and analysis of the three rooms (with their $75,000 software program and tools), then provided 3D renderings of each room and full treatment plans for each room with before and projected "after" measurements.

All rooms wired with multiple dedicated 20 amp circuits.

All walls are double 5/8 drywall with green glue. If you knock on the walls, they are rock solid.

I would love to have Jim come and do all three rooms, to at least get an idea of best seating position and speaker positioning.

Wine fridge, no wine cellar. We can't go "down" in Florida or we hit water.
