Put in the new kitchen/bar fridge.

Passed the electrical inspection.

Drywalling next week (two sheets of 5/8 with green glue in between).

New ceiling late next week.

Thanksgiving week has stalled things!

Good progress Mike! When do you expect to be ready for the "grand opening"?

I'm still thinking January 1st.

Then a formal opening ceremony, 60-90 days later, after all the measurements are done, room treatments are in, etc.

Mike.......I am happy for you. I always had a little dream in the back of my mind that one day I might own an audio store, but my life took another direction and that tree never bore fruit. I am enjoying your experience vicariously and pleased you are able to turn your dream into reality. I see there's still lots to accomplish but it is looking good.

Great! Let me know ahead of time. Would like to be there for the Grand Opening.

That's great Mike that you're using 5/8" thick gyp board... and times two is even better. I still think the reason my downstairs room sounds as good as it does is because we also used 5/8 inch thick sheet rock..... coupled with full thick insulation in some walls. The insulation was an accident (for a listening room.... and mandatory for the wine cellar perimeter) but I think it ends up helping the sound quality anyhow.

Good tip Mike. I'm building a house in Sarasota next year. The plans include a dedicated audio/music room.

Thanks Mike. I really did my homework to ensure I designed and built out all the rooms the best to myself ability. Since I own the building, no sense cutting corners.

Well, since you own it then, best put a guest bedroom in too :D

It has to be a success Mike , you've started with very capable demolition contractor ...This is just a beginning , New York , San Francisco next ...Toronto should follow .
Best of luck ...someone one said "no guts , no glory "

Congratulations, Mike. Taking risks to grow one's business is completely admirable. I promise to make a trip to Jays spring training so that I can come to visit the finished product.

Walls are up, insulation in, green glue applied, drywall finishing is done, paint is done, baseboards and ceiling going in today. LED lights tomorrow.
