EV Cars

By the way, what do they use to make all the plastic parts and rubber tires on EVs? Petroleum?

not all, don't forget natural gas !

So now we have to buy the oil from other countries to make plastic parts for our cars made with batteries from China.

have to, no, will we tho ????

Am I the only one that sees the silliness in all this? Cattle spew more greenhouse gasses than cars do in some areas and maybe one of the reasons they want us to eat synthetic beef.

the only silliness I see is anyone believing this transition will take place in 10 years or less, combined with the silliness of those that don't believe change is inevitable........

Israeli companies are in the forefront of this technology. Obviously this is not GMO free, lol!

There is one company already extracting heme from soy to mimic red meat color and also provides the savory flavor as well.

There will be legislation coming down the road, where anything GMO will be forced to have a big sticker on the package.

I will become vegetarian before I eat this crap. I already saw a documentary about what is in Beyond Meat and a few others already on the market.

I am holding out for Freedom to choose, not some uber rich ass telling me I have to. I guess I am in the minority.

understood, I suspect 100 plus years ago the same sentiment was echoed as we transition away from the horse drawn carriage !

Maybe, but just like many of your neighbors, they never moved on to the Machines.

My point was not really about the change itself, but the fake reasons why and what it will do to the US economy if Mandated.

Charge your EV with Electricity created from FFs. Use FFs to make most of the parts of the EV. Buy all the Batteries from China.

Feel free to add to the list.

Mike is contemplating to become an auto dealer for Porsche.
...For McLaren and Mercedes too? ;)

Back to earth; it's getting hot on the wet coast. EV is the way to go, no doubt, no drought.
And forget the cows; lots of methane leaks from the land.

Too many fires not enough water ...

* I might become vegetarian too; when we won't be able to grow cows anymore because it's too dry, we can't give them water to drink, or that they'll be gone (burned by the fires).
Not enough mooses and bears to feed the planet.

We have to stop dropping toxic radioactive nuclear wastes and plastics into our oceans or the fishes we eat will kill us.

It's no easy times the ones we're all living right now. EV is only one aspect of the entire food chain...way of speech. Pollution falling on our food is no good for our health.

Canada is the next agricultural land to replace the California one.

Canada will never happen, no where near the sun days needed for the crops Cali grows. Unless there’s a major shift in earth axis then we’re all f’kd.

That was exactly my point; it's getting hot enough now in Canada to take over California's crops...food (vegetables, fruits) and wine (whiskey too). We have plenty of water, California not anymore.

Without water California is a desert where you can no longer grow food.
Water is the issue, the droughts, the brown yellow fields dying, the forests burning...not the batteries for EV.

It's not Californian's fault, it's climate change. It can even affect where EV batteries are made and their components.
Chips shortage in EV's production are affected by Delta (Corona); that's different.

You have room for one more in your fishing boat? :)
You know a lake nearby with still water in it?

Yes, plenty of room!

I live in North Idaho a major water shed / drainage of water that flows into the Pacific. Cali wants our water but won’t happen in my lifetime (maybe).

There are solutions to capture snow runoff in Cali but politics and idiots get in the way.
