Esoteric K-01X is in the house!

Sounds like Ken is already in heaven! :panic:

Hi Mike,

Yes, I am in heaven with the K-01X sound! Improving my source enabled me to achieve a huge breakthrough that carried through my entire system. I wasn't expecting such a step up but I'm sure glad I made the move.

You are making some great moves with your system too. Lumin S1 and D'Ag Pre are huge. What do you have planned next for your system?

Best,
Ken

Ken,

A couple of things - continue to buy lots of music and upgrading the Python and Anacondas to Sigmas. And, potentially a Typhon in the spring. Oh, is D'Agostino offering an upgrade for the stereo amp?

Indeed Kev. The DAG combo is stellar with the Alexias. And, the Lumin S-1 is terrific. So, like Ken, I'm in musical heaven.

That's awesome Mike. The Lumin S-1, D'Agostino and Alexia are all reference level components. You have very methodically put together a world-class audio system. It must sound sublime. Congrats!

Enjoy,
Ken

Ken & Mike, I don't think you'd find anyone that "wouldn't" want to have a listening session to your systems. They are exceptional.

and do you use the DAC from the Esoteric in your system or the DAC from the S-1 ? which one is better ?

I've been incredibly busy at work and home lately and my listening sessions have almost entirely involved loading up ripped CDs and playing music files through my server and K-01X's DAC. But today I had the time to spin some CDs and the K-01X transport just blew me away. I started with Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits and then moved on to my new favorite Julie London CD. The tonal density, nuance, layering and musical rightness of the K-01X's transport is unbelievable. It just sounds more like live musicians than anything else I've heard. For those that believe computer files have passed by CD's, I would suggest dropping a CD in the K-01X's transport and taking a listen. Prepare to be amazed!

Best,
Ken
