Anybody compared the two? Wondering if it's worth the difference in price. Looking for the difference in signature of those two and the cartridges I currently own if you ever tried them.

Analog rig consists of a Clearaudio Master Solution, Graham Phantom II, Aesthetix IO Signature dual power supply, Nordost Valhalla tonearm cable and MinusK isolation platform. Currently running a Lyra Kleos (will be for sale soon) and I just sold a Sumiko Palo Santos Presentation.

Thank you in advance,

Never compared the two.

The dyna xv-1s is one of the great cartridges. I ask now on my 3rd.

If you can afford the xv-1t, why not.

Thanks for the reply Shane, with your sig I guess you are the right guy to talk to. Well it ain't that easy, my choice is either XV-1T alone or XV-1S with Lyra Etna. Could be Atlas on it's own but I always wanted an XV. What do you think? I noticed you also have an Atlas, so I guess you are well positioned to answer.

i heard the xv1T, and it was one incredible cartridge, i was there to heard the xv1s and maybe get a deal and put a deposit on it cause it was a demo, but it was sold the day before i got there. so i couldnt compare, nor afford either new.lol. i did prefer it to the clearaudio titanium i heard right next to it. but the guy i was with prefered the titanium.lol. so its definitely oppinion.
i was supposed to go to another place and hear the etna and atlas, side by side but i havent got there yet. like 3 hour drive and a full day of different equip to listen to. the guy has told me the etna dollar to dollar is a better value than the atlas, but that just might be him trying to sell me.lol. cause he knows i dont have atlas money.
one you should hear and to date its my favorite cartridge that i ever heard and just a dream for me.... mc anna. and if your in that range did you read Miles' universe2 review?
best of luck its a hard choice. and very nice analog setup you have there!!

Heard that comment before that the price/value consideration is better with the second offering from cartridge manufacturer than the top of the line models. Read somewhere the analogy that you are gaining 1/100 of a second for big bucks.

Sooooo nobody tried both?

Thanks Steve,

Many brands and unfortunately many with little if any representation around here. Dynavector and Lyra are two brands I know and like hence my query. Thanks for the info though, someday maybe. ..

Hi Dan,

Have you ever run any of the Clearaudio cartridges with the Master Solution? Just thinking synergy....

I have the XV1t on my arm now. It is close to broken in. It is spectacular and on the level of my Koetsu stone bodies.

Yes I heard the combination a few years back but I don't remember the model of the cartridge. Both the table and cartridge can be analytical so the mixture was too much for me

thats exactly what i thought of the CA titanium i heard. little less musical than the dynavector. but i always go for more . id rather have 2 really great cartridges than one top of the line . keeps things fun. imo. either way its a great dilemma to have!!!
my vote is xv1s and etna :exciting:

Christian, that's a big complement to compare the xv 1T to your stone bodies. I guess you never compared the 1T to a 1S?

Off topic, is there any snow left in your area? will be close by early April to do The Tour of the Battenkill bike race, btw nice town you live in.

That is good advice. I'm sure the 1s gets you pretty close. The 1t is world class and can compete against all other statement carts, IMO...it's a matter of taste at that point.

Well the Etna is ordered, probably 3 to 6 months lead time. Saw Mickey's review this morning and that sealed the deal. Should be getting exact figures for the Dyna's tomorrow due to fluctuating exchange rate, my dealer was thinking of a group buy on the 1T as he's looking for one himself. Will see....

No I haven't tried the 1s, but I know it's a great cart by the fact of how many use it and it is a great value. I had been listening to my Coralstone for 6 months straight and switched to the dynavector. I am getting just as much musical enjoyment. I think the 1t is a little faster reacting cart than Koetsu, not that it really matters for my musical tastes.

I still have a 2' snow pack in my yard. It is getting cold again for a spell.

If the price is right I will go for the 1T otherwise the 1S will surely keep me happy. Thanks for your help.

Snowing here right now :(

Steve, you and Christian voted for the right formula! One XV1S and one Etna ordered. I'm all exited, now the wait.......

As soon as I get one of the two I will put my low hour Kleos for sale.

Thank you all for your kind comments.

Thanks Steve! Stereophile (Fremer) did a review, if you mean real world as people like me well it may take a while. My dealer ordered one in December for himself and he was number 24 in line a few weeks ago with an ETA of 3 months. Suspect I will get mine sometime this summer, will have the Dyna hopefully before that.

I'm on my 3rd 1s. I was thinking about the 1t but my dealer told me he thought the 1s was better. Obviously subjective stuff...

Interesting, well that's what I'm getting like it or not (well really not complaints here actually). :D ETA 6 weeks on the Dyna, can't wait.....
