Misplacing albums on the record shelves. Just got in the reissue of Paniagua's La Spagna and damned if I can locate my original copy. :badnews: Also seems originals are going for bongo bucks.

Happens to me all the time. I can search and search and nada. Then, the next time I'm up in the rooms/area where all the stuff is, the record literally jumps into my hand. It's uncanny. It's also why I have multiple pressings of some albums. I forget I own it and buy it again! (And then say, why do I have all these Corvairs in my driveway?)

The cheapest price I've seen for the original is around $160 recently. Saw it go for a lot more previously.

When you find it and spin it Myles, I'd be interested in your feedback on the music and sonics.;)

In the Philippines we have a joke/saying about that sort of thing "May duende ka". You've got house elves. :D

Whenever I remove a disk from the shelf, I insert a bright yellow card that extends out so I can see at a glance that something was taken out. When I am done listening, the disk goes back where the bright yellow card was.

If I misfile a disk, it could be so hard to find at a later date that I have been known to replace a few disks I knew I had, but could not find, and naturally found them some time after the replacement arrived.

Don't have any issues with albums, but more than once I have opened a CD or Blueray container and it is empty. Usually, I will find another one with two disks in it. Fortunately, the music server has basically eliminated CD issues, but Bluerays are still a problem.

I just pull out the vinyl in front of what I am playing about one third and replace when I eventually put it away.

I still misplace every now and then

That's a great method but think this issue came about more from rearranging the collection every so often. Losses happen more often for straggler labels where there might be only one record from a company as opposed to those where have many or all of a label's releases.

Not sure I understand...I turn on the Aurender and scroll to the album or artist I'm after...how could it be "missing"???? :doubtful:

I use the CollectorZ's Music Collector ap. I have it synced with my laptop, iPhone and iPad. I have the information for every piece of music I own whether CD. LP or digital file with me at all times. I even add Rhapsody and Tidal files that I have linked via Sooloss. There is no chance for me accidentally duplicating a purchase.

It,s like pick axe handles for the burglars, you can't never have too many of the same thing!!!

Forgive my twisted humor, but unfortunately Bongo is no longer with us. RIP Jim.
