Don't like the WBF look and feel recently adopted

So here are our two options for setting up new posts:

1- It will disregard which posts belong to you or which posts you read and it will display all "updated" threads since your last activity time (ie last time you visited the forum.) When you visit a forum for a reason (eg. to read a PM) your last visit time will change and in your next visit you will only see new posts since your that second visit because that second visit would update your last visit time.

2- It will keep track of the threads you read and it will display only threads that you haven't read regardless of your last visit time.

Which way does everyone like?

#1.

I want to view stuff that's new since I last visited. I always click on new posts, and click on threads that interest me. Also, the audioshark view does not work well off the mobile.

Hmm, thought I posted to this thread but can't find it now. Maybe I just hit go advanced.

Yes, I vote leave with #2. I like the longer history I see. I can use the Activity Stream to get back to recent posts.

Yes, and then members complained, so we went with #2.

LOL. You can't win either way. :)

As I mentioned my objection is a thread 'disappears' after being read. Later if you want to return to it, but do not know which forum it is in, it can be difficult to find. I will try using the Activity option. I was so used to just using New Posts I never really looked at other options.

That's option number 1.

Not really. Option #1 is (supposedly) new posts since your last visit (logon), not since a particular time (which is the way it used to be). There is no "option" to return to how the "new posts" worked a few days ago.

Right. I meant #2.

Just like to say I love the speed of this forum and for sure its more friendlier than Whats the best Forum :-) that one has some real raptors on site.

Will the moderators put up "Introduce your self" Section?

Thank you and we agree! The introduce yourself section is there - ever since day one! Welcome.

I have had an account on WTB for about 4 years posted like 4 times only. Used to like AVS but the crowd is very aggressive. Currently I post and browse on Computer audiophile forum and Audiocircle. Just recently joined this one. SO im new here. but have been a long term poster on AVS. WTB forum is the worst in my opinion, moderators ban users easily had another friend who complained about that site. They delete posts all the time.

I Object to this. Do you have any measurements to support this claim? LoL

Am, erh, ahh, umm. Lucky I can type with objectivity and my radio shack test bench never lies about the measurements. If you don't believe me, the evidence is indisputably posted on my very own bestest forum...If you can't find it, here's the link...blah, blah, blah.

Sorry, couldn't help myself, THIS forum works just fine the way it is!

Yeah it really went down hill when I left. Now Audioshark is the place to be :)

You burn bridges faster than an enemy that sees the troops rushing towards them. The "place to be" for you is any place that will have you. WBF was on a death spiral before you joined, your tornadic activity just helped increase the speed of the spiral.

Here is where I insert a smiley face to make everything OK: :)
