Does anybody have the Magico A3 speakers?

Mep, please show me where I described the A3 as a piece of junk? You keep writing that I have passed judgement on the A3. Where and when have I done so. In fact, I suggested to Al M. that he audition the A3 specifically because I liked my Q3 so much and he was in the market for a new speaker at that price point. I don't know if he went to audition the A3 specifically because I suggested it. You would have to ask him. Regarding Ack's comments to me: People share opinions with me all the time. That does not mean I agree with them or even comment about it.

I did not realize that Ack has now since heard the A3. That is new information to me and seems to have occured much after his earlier comments. He has not discussed his actual A3 listening impressions with me. I just read about it a few minutes ago hear.

Regarding the M3, I liked my earlier demo of the M3 very much and argued quite a bit with Ack via email about our differing opinions. It was only the second time I heard them with different LPs, and some different components, but in the same room, that I did not like them. Ack has a more consistent negative opinion about the speaker. As I have written repeatedly, I remain open minded simply because I loved it the first time I heard it, and I love my friend's M Pro. The M3 is the clear descendent of the MPro. I even went to a dealership in NYC to hear the M3, but it was not set up, so that will have to wait for another time.

Again, if you claim that I passed judgment about the A3's sonics by describing it as a "piece of junk", please show me where I did so.

There are four people in the Boston Audio gang, and you are one of the four. When Ack posted directly to you on WBF and said "the new A3 which has been described internally among us as a piece of junk" I certainly thought you were part of the "us" that participated in the discussion. So now you are saying you weren't part of the "us" in the discussion about the A3. Case closed.

This must be the most ridicules thread I have ever read on an audio forum.
Never cease to amaze me what ego will do to some people.

It's no worse than the rest of that forum.

Mep, I am not sure why this is such a big deal to you. Yes, there are four people in our informal audio "group" and we all live around Boston. I am surely one of the group. Please do not keep referring to us as a "gang". What is up with that? That is a loaded term with all sorts of negative connotations.

I have not heard the A3 but am aware of Al's and Ack's views of the A3 and have discussed the speaker with them. You seem offended by something that was mentioned on WhatsBestForum, so I suggest you carry on this discussion with the two of them. I have said all I can about this topic.

Im not offended if anyone doesn’t like the A3. You came here to comment on this A3 thread which reminded of the previous WBF thread where Ack responded to you with his comments about the A3. I’m done with this conversation Peter.

Oh really? Not to my recollection. But if you say so...

How could you possibly have any recollection of the PM I sent Steve to tell him I was quitting the forum because of Amir. I chose not to put up with the nonsense and I detailed the reasons in my PM to Steve for why I was quitting.

O.k., that clears it up, thanks.

Mark, there is a succinct difference in me saying "described internally" - which does not imply consensus and does not specify who said something - vs. a hypothetical "we all internally agreed", which I would have written had there been internal consensus on the A3. Peter has never expressed an opinion on the A3, since he hasn't heard it. The problem with quoting just one post and then proclaiming "already pass judgement" (your words), is that it paints an incorrect context, and leaves out all the praise we have given to other Magico products over the years. It is what it is, but do take everything into consideration, since you happen to know the history on WBF, and are apparently still reading it.

Thank you for this Ack. You wrote more clearly what I tried to convey in many posts. It seems obvious to me, and perhaps now Mep better understands that his claim was based on an incorrect assumption or premise.

Yes, many people read WBF though they choose not to participate or join as members.

Well, Amir's been gone a long time...just sayin'

So how this he said she said is going to help the OP?

If you don't like this speaker tells us why and if you like this speaker tell us why, don't make it more complicated than it is, I was about to pull the trigger on this one and now I am back to square one. I cannot tell from this thread if A3 model of Magico is any good and or is it worth the higher price that it is.

And if you have any other suggestions for me to look at please let me hear it, what else is out there in the price range of Magico A3?

Thank you Tom, sorry.

More A3 (or similar) opinions and recommendations.
