So I remember Dean on the various variety shows when I was a young kid in the '60's. I didn't realize until I was demonstrating a few systems in NYC recently what an amazing voice box the guy had. Listen to I'm Confessin' That I Love You and you can hear him breathe between words at times. What other male vocalists have that deep throaty voice besides Dean? I can think of Johnny Hartman. Any other recommendations?

I think much of what you are hearing is due to his smoking and drinking, LOL. Just teasing, I love Dean as an actor but haven't found a good recording of his singing. I'm wondering if they just didn't record his stuff well or I haven't found the right one. He was great with John Wayne in Rio Bravo, I even have his Matt Helm collection, you want to see Dean doing cool.....

Sorry for hijacking, a great voice from your neck of the woods, Terry Callier. Different stuff than Dean, A couple of my favorite tracks Dancing Girl or Lazarus Man.
I don't have much male vocals from Dean's era. I found a Nat King Cole LP I like called Love.
You might give Johnny Cash a listen. Interestingly, he was getting air play on Alternative stations around the time of his death and for a time. He had a fairly deep voice.

Try Dream With Dean. Quite a good album. It's available on TIDAL.

With such a nice turntable setup you might want to check out "Dream with Dean, the intimate Dean Martin" which is on 180g vinyl remastered from the original analog tapes and reported to sound excellent. It's also available in a more limited 200g 45 RPM version.

Dream with Dean sounds quite excellent on Tidal. The first track is the song I was referring to in my initial post. Check it out.

Greetings RDSChicago. I agree completely with your observation. He had a way with the words of music. I have move completely away from the vinyl scene and hav e a NM copy of the 6 LP SET of: Memories Are Made Of This: A Treasury Of Dean Martin. If you want this collection, let me know, make me an offer. Thank you for the memories.
Cheers

Played some Dino as well.

And you have to admit, these guys dressed style, and made liquor and cigarettes look so cool, and I am not a smoker.
