Thank you Kev. I love NYC too. So much to offer. Great small venues where you can see artists and feel like they are playing in your living room. I make it a point to hear live music as often as I can.

Bruce, very lucky. Love NY & am a fan of D'Crosby......

So nice to be able to see these performers before they are no more. I know I have made an effort over the last few years to try and see some of those groups I never got the chance to experience back in the day.

Hell, I saw The Doors not so long ago, probably 6 months before Ray Manzarek kicked the bucket. Cut that one close. The guy they hired to play Morrison was spot on perfect in look and sound (but he was sober).

Agreed. Saw Tony Bennett from the second row a couple of years ago at age 86. Unbelievable how he sounded even at that age!

Bruce, very cool. Is that the City Winery? I saw Sinéad O'Connor there late last year. It's a great venue. A bit cramped for dinner, but once the music starts it is a lot of fun!

Allen…Yes, City Winery. I love it there. So intimate and great sound. When it's right, it feels like the artists are just playing music, not performing. A very different experience.

Totally agree. Now I wish I picked up some Rachel Yamagata tix over there for an upcoming show.

Are you a member of City Winery? Early notice of events, maybe discounts, etc? If you are, is it worth it?

thx

Allen…Yes I am a member. The advance notice is good because the bigger draws sell quicker and I like to sit right up front. Also, I go often enough that I more than make up for membership fees by not having to pay service charges for tickets.

Thanks Bruce. I'm keeping my eye out on artists there and may join if I go to one or two more shows.

Hi Bruce, I was there as well....it was a great show. I loved the guitarist playing a few of the Gretch electric guitars as well as David and the overall performance. Playing "Byrd" songs was very cool!

Hello Bob, The Byrds' (David Crosby was an original member) songs were the highlight of the show for me. "Eight Miles High" and "Turn, Turn, Turn"…Brought me back to another time and place. I loved the 12 string Rickenbacker …the guitar that Roger McGuinn played and George Harrison loved it too and played one throughout his life. I saw the original Byrds back in the early 70s at the recently renovated Capital Theater in Port Chester, NY…..A historic venue and another great place to hear live music today. (historic...Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane, Traffic…Grateful Dead did 18 shows there in less than a year) I get excited just thinking about it. I love live music.
