Creative gear photos - post 'em here

Picture of the Pink Faun Scion streamer here.

Listening to it tonight I was thinking people who ordered their Taiko 2 years ago with no product still. Hopefully they will either get a real ETA (which they are still unable to receive) or be able to get their money back at some point so they can purchase something else.

There are so many great options available - Antipodes, Innuos, Aurrender and more. I sincerely hope the customers in limbo are able to find closure soon.

Another beautiful amp arrived here for review.

Type 45 amp and I've got a beautiful pair of 1932 Cunningham GLOBE 45's ready to try in it!

Hoping it makes glorious sound from the Signal Projects, Tobian, Pink Faun and Aries-Cerat gear here.

An eraser. A tin of wax. A tube tester from 1935.

Strange companions, aren’t they?

In my full restoration of this piece of gear, it will also include the careful cleaning and preservation of the 90 year old paper tube chart.

So how do you rescue something so fragile? The way they do in the great museums of the world:

•A soft brush to sweep away the dust of decades.
•A rubber eraser, moved gently across the surface, lifting the scars of time without erasing its story.
•And finally, a protective layer of European wax, sealing its legacy so it can survive another century.

I'll be creating a series of videos and content on the complete restoration of this piece.

Used for Magnepan 3.6 speakers that are tri-amped with subs: Pass Labs XVR-1-3 way crossover with Jupiter, V-Cap Copper, Silmic II , and Black Gate capacitors and a few naked Vishay resistors. 20 iterations of changes and several hundred hours of listening to get it right. These unit also have 2 upgraded power supplies and special umbilical power cords.

Yes I love my Aric Audio 2A3 amp.

But upgrading my power filter from the Puritan to the Signal Projects S30 from Mike at Suncoast made a MASSIVE difference.

I plug the amps directly into the wall, and plug my Pink Faun Scion (no 2 year wait with no-ETA /prepaying buying nightmare with them like a certain other brand), and Aries Cerat Helene DAC into the S30.

I won't say what others like to claim "it made the background darker". I don't like that phrase.

I WILL say it made the music flow easier, less digital sounding, and helped bring out musical nuances that were missing before.

And I also tried the Signal Projects Apollon Interconnects. More coming soon on them but so far they are sounding very, very good.

Just in — a carefully bubble-wrapped package, waiting its turn on the tube testers here.

Inside?

Not one, but two beautiful pairs of 807 tubes — one set of 1940’s Ken-Rad military-spec beasts, and another pair of 1940’s RCA classics.
