Creative gear photos - post 'em here

Gratuitous statements like this do not belong in a thread about creative gear photos. To me it's an indication of agenda driven mudslinging.
I've never understood how talking about facts and what is going on is somehow an 'agenda'. Unlike WBF who receives money from Taiko and did what they did, I take no money from any company.

I just believe people have a right to know who they are sending their money to and what goes on in this industry. Don't you? Isn't that a good thing?

Most people want to be warned about potential issues so they don't fall into the same issues others have. I'm sorry if the facts around this topic bothered you - that was not my intention.

I've always found it perplexing when people feel someone talking about how bad a company acts/operates is somehow 'agenda driven'. Taiko is who made this an issue that drove Alessandro to his breaking point where he went public.

Unless people are OK with what is going on around orders, people should have no issue with this.

Let ‘s try to understand then… It comes across as an agenda when you repeat things multiple times, in unrelated topics, especially when you’re not personally involved and therefore are not a firsthand source of information.

Interesting you claim to have insight into what I know or how I've been involved.

It's sad to see how you completely disregard all of Alessandro's public posts on this issue to instead spin your narrative.

I guess we have a fundamental difference in our beliefs of right and wrong. Highlighting poor behavior and customer issues is not an "agenda" - unless you are the people on the side of the wrongdoers.

I'm going to continue to post gear photos on this thread. Hopefully you'll choose to join and do the same Happy listening!

This is what my room would look like if I ate a purple Popsicle too quickly and had a purple-brain-freeze.

Latest piece just in.....this is a higher level Graphite Audio platform than the one I've had and loved:

NS-130.jpg
I refurbished this amp recently. It was NOS but had massive water/corrosion damage.

The NS-130 was made about 1958 in St. Paul, MN by Nobles Manufacturing. It makes 15 W/channel using a pair of EL84s in class A. Each channel is removable from the main chassis by merely unplugging it- they are held in place by two 5-pin tube sockets.

This is arguably one of the most elegant PP EL84 amps ever made. The chassis has welded and ground corners and is polished and chromed.

I did minor modification. The audio ground and chassis were the same thing; fine in the era of no grounded power cords. I wanted the amp to be safe to operate so rebuilt it with a grounded chassis and the audio ground star grounded and floating at chassis potential (which prevents ground loops). So the AC inlet on the far right got changed slightly to accommodate an IEC connection. The two other blank holes were related to a 15V power supply meant for an external solid state preamp. That preamp is far more rare than the amp, which is rare enough. The preamp is a handsome unit but constructed entirely of germanium devices (yuk). That left some filter capacitance locations to allow for additional power supply filtering. Otherwise the circuit is stock although drifted and aged parts have been replaced (which means all the resistors as well as the filter cans; oddly, the oil filled Cornell Dublier coupling caps were all good).

15/15 Watts @ 10%thd ..? Yawn ….. :)
Actually measured about 0.9% at full power. This amp runs a bit of feedback. It uses a single 12AX7 to drive the output tubes; the first section is actually running grid leak bias since so much gain is being asked of that stage so it can run more feedback, rather than use a pentode input.

Are you saying its 15/15 watts @.9% Thd …?

What does it clip at ..?

Fresh from England.

And unlike the Tannoys who claimed to be made in England (but were really via China), These are FULLY made in England. Even down to the hand plaining of the cabinets and oiling of the finishes.
