Corona Buster

I invited 6 good friends down from Portland, Me. for the weekend. Fortunately they didn't have any problem getting a flight to Tampa. Maybe because it was a oneway ticket.

Lobster rolls, beef tenderloin, coleslaw and some porter.

Now I have to learn how to make these, since going to New England is not happening anytime soon.

If you happened to enjoy looking at my friends, sans steaming, maybe Sunday lunch leftover for one small roll might help your taste buds?

I would suggest Maine Lobster Now. They have the least expensive lobster online that I have found and it comes out of Portland.

A $100 purchase which could be 6, 6-7oz tails at $19.95 ea and it includes next day FedEx even for Saturday delivery.

If you have never made them, less is more. Steam the tails for 7 minutes. Put them on ice in the fridge until cool. Cut them down the back on top and pull the meat out. Turn it over and at the end of the tail slice open and remove a small darker colored vain it is the digestive system. Many people don't remove it and it won't hurt you. I just prefer it out.

Cut the lobster to what ever size your prefer. For 6 tails add a teaspoon of lemon, 2 table spoons of Cains Mayo if you have it, if you don't your normal mayo with a bit of salt. That is all. Stir it up and put it in a Pepperidge Farms top sliced bun that (you should be able to find in the grocery store) was buttered on the outside and toasted on a hot grill. Trust me you don't need anything else.

in the 5th week of lockdown -- had to give myself a haircut ...let's just say i am now very "aerodynamic"

I must say with the weather warming up, so it is possible to eat al fresco and sit outside, it’s much nicer.

I’m gonna paint another bedroom this weekend; nice to enter spring with a fully fresh painted room that’s fully dusted and cleaned.

Also gonna get back biking this weekend, and working out while the paint dries [emoji851]

cut grass (2nd time), aerate and overseed the lawn, spend some time at the loading bench(shotgun shells) and then enjoy a Manhattan or two before dinner. Getting a little nervous, while I have plenty of whiskey I'm getting low on vermouth .......

Dave, there are times in life when you have to weigh out the risk rewards.

I say strap on that facemask and head off to your local supplier.

Here in Florida our ABC liquor stores have curbside pick up when you call in an order.

sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. Be careful my friend.

Brad, that's the problem, here in Pennsyltucky our liquor stores are closed and my favorite one over the border in Delaware (Total Wine) , the Police have been stopping those with out of state plates !

before I left Florida last month I picked a couple extra bottles of VO but inadvertently thought I had plenty of vermouth ! No problem , I'll just add some 'Badda Bing' cherry juice !

Dave, Trainos is still open in Marlton NJ but unsure if they are checking PA cars in Jersey.

I am headed to Promised Land in the Poconos in 2 hours to freeze my ass off. Wont be many people around up there but the out house is gonna be chillin. No plumbing or running water, pump in the yard. Wood/Coal burning stove in the kitchen. No Internet.

Cheers and try not to go nuts during lockdown.

Thanks for the tip Brian, not at the desperation level yet, half bottle left !

sounds like a great move, relax, stay safe and enjoy !

It really surprises me that in IL liquor stores are allowed to remain open having been designated as essential businesses. Maybe that has something to do with all the tax revenue they generate.

Liquor stores are open in Colorado. Curb side service available in many cases.

I believe the thinking is that its likely not wise to cut off peoples' alcohol without causing an entirely different health care crisis (detox) that also could impact hospitals at the same time as COVID.

It is encouraging how some of the elderly are coping in these difficult times...

You can buy liquor at the grocery stores here in Washington, and have it delivered by Amazon, used to be same day but not sure if that has changed

oh I know, alot of states are like that, but here in Pennsyltucky we have the PLCB (Pa Liquor Control Board) and it's a classic example of a Gov't 'F' up !
