looking to connect/wire these speakers to my amplifier?

i would like to bi-amp them, if possible...

there are 4 connection posts, with no legend as to how to connect them...

i appreciate any help..thanks in advance!

First I even knew CJ made a speaker.

Typically, one set of binding posts is for highs and another set for lows. They should be marked by +/- or red/black. Hook a speaker cable from amp to speaker keeping black to back and red to red (- to - etc.) There should be jumpers to go from one set of posts of the speaker to the other or you could use any jumper, like a short speaker cable.

If you have two outputs on your amp or two amps you can hook one set to the speaker's highs and another to the lows.

Hope this makes sense.

What ?!?!?! C-J has speakers? Cool. 😎 I’ll have to check their website. Are those current models or vintage?

ASIDE:
i ALSO bought their last pair of the SRS Speakers directly from the factory warehouse in Fairfax, Va., (just a few miles from my home) way back when...so smooth...no listening fatigue...

this represents the speakers well.

Overview of Conrad Johnson Synthesis SRS Speakers
The Conrad Johnson Synthesis SRS speakers are a highly regarded vintage speaker system from the 1980s–1990s era. These are not standalone speakers but rather a complete reference system that consists of four components: two subwoofer towers, two main speakers, and an active crossover.

System Configuration
Component
Details
Subwoofer TowersTwo towers (~6 feet tall each) per channel, each housing custom-designed woofers built for Conrad Johnson by a Chicago manufacturer
Main SpeakersMid-sized, sleek high-frequency speaker cabinets with Dynaudio D28 A/F tweeters and Focal 7" midrange drivers
Active CrossoverRequired component that splits the signal from your preamp into separate high-frequency and low-frequency outputs for biamplification
Woofer SpecificationsCustom drivers solid to 22 Hz with fast response suitable for blending with electrostatics; approximately 89 dB sensitivity at 1W/1m

Sound Characteristics
The Synthesis SRS system is praised for its neutral, smooth, and liquid sound signature. Key attributes include:
  • Bass Performance: Excellent deep bass extension to around 23 Hz (3 dB down), with fast, tight, responsive woofers that integrate seamlessly with the midrange and treble
  • Midrange: Described as liquid and natural, with impressive detail retrieval and musicality
  • Treble: Crystal clear highs without harshness
  • Soundstage: Wide, spacious soundstage with excellent 3D imaging when positioned properly (at least 2–3 feet from the back wall)
  • Overall Presentation: Smooth, coherent, and non-fatiguing, even with less-than-perfect source material

Amplification & Impedance
The Synthesis SRS speakers are very easy to drive with moderate impedance. According to vintage audio dealers and owners:
  • Rated for approximately 100 watts, though they perform well with less powerful amplifiers
  • Designed and voiced for Conrad Johnson tube amplifiers, though they work with quality solid-state gear as well
  • Owners have successfully used them with Conrad Johnson amps like the MV-50, Premier 350, and other tube equipment
  • They can also be driven by quality receivers and amplifiers from other manufacturers

Original MSRP & Rarity
The system had an original MSRP of approximately $12,995 (a substantial investment for the era), making them a true statement-level speaker system. They are extremely rare on the used market and difficult to find intact.

Probably goes without saying but if you plan to bi-amp these you would remove the jumpers between the upper and lower terminals.

Those must be outstanding.
Both beautiful look & sound quality to match...

i did junk their crossover for Bryston {and recently found the best X/o I've heard from SUBLIME to replace my Krell KBX's for my main quad amped $ystem} ...for some reason, CJ did not believe in XLR connections (wtf)...

for some reason, CJ did not believe in XLR connections (wtf)

They’ve always opted for single ended because it’s simpler and they feel for normal runs, it’s just as good. I can see both sides but with CJ’s high gain amps and preamps, noise levels could have been a problem.

I had to plug everything into the same circuit/outlet to keep noise to a minimum. Super efficient speakers were usually almost unbearable to me for late night listening because of the noise floor.

I had Krell at one point. I did a 180 and purchased a PV14ls2 with a MV60. I eventually bought another MV60 sent both back to CJ to be converted to mono. I upgraded the PV14 to a CT6. Interestingly the CT6 had 4 tubes yet sounded less lush. I never noticed any noise issues but my speakers weren't that efficient.

I eventually moved on but still have a soft spot for CJ. I say CJ breathes soul into the music. What prompted my change was buying a set of speakers that were difficult to drive.
