There are several companies offering services to help people monitor and reduce the exposure of their personal information online. PureVPN’s Digital Privacy Protection is one such offering, combining breach-related monitoring, exposure reports, and data-removal assistance.

he distinction between identifying exposed information and successfully reducing that exposure seems particularly important. An alert may be useful, but the clarity of the findings and the actions available afterward matter just as much.

There is also the question of trust. Using a privacy service can involve providing personal information, which raises reasonable questions about how that information is handled and whether the benefits justify another subscription.

Has anyone here used their Digital Privacy Protection? How useful were its findings, and what was your experience with the data-removal assistance?

Great question.

I used to work in digital marketing.

There are so many other ways they get your info (such as even just from downloading and app) and ways to reverse-append the data to find out everything about you not sure it's really worth it.

If you use Amazon or Gmail or FB they already know more about you than you do.

I use the VPN from Pure but have not used other services. Like what was just said above, it will be hard to purge what is already out there. The Wayback Machine still has it all.

I do have a FB account but rarely post anything other than garden pics and mostly comment on other posts. I use Amazon so they have my CC number and I do have a Gmail account.

What I do not do is any kind of On Line Banking or Bill Paying so all that info is not out there. We also have our financial people mail us important paperwork so it is not sent by email. I also do not install every app than comes down the pike because they all have you agree that you will share anything on your phone or PC.

It's hard but I try to keep the footprint smaller than most others do.

whatever went out will always be there.
All the companys helping you to hide and delete....forget it, far too late. Goes into zillions of backups that do not even support deleting. Also whatever coding, as soon as you use the line you become an activ impulse and some cant read it, some can and some cant now but can later. And some AI will fix the remaining gap:)
