Hi,
i was at 2 fingers to pull the trigger on the Classic 3 Rosewood, but i realized that the platter was not dark black.
On some pics, it look like very "grey" like granit, and some other more dark.

Are there 2 versions of the color top (maybe different with Piano black or Rosewood) ?

Please, help me in my choice with pics of yours ;)

Frank

AFAIK, the Classic 3 uses an all Al platter. Perhaps it was an older table where they used to use a metacrylate platter or a hybrid platter. There were pics of an experimental platter that was going around but never released with a gray coating on top of the platter.

Actually, i mean the top of the unit, not the platter .

The "grey" platter might have been the ceramic coated platter. A few were made and sold, but I take it the cost or difficulty in manufacturing it prevented its submission into real production. I have one. I guess that makes it somewhat precious?

Here a pic of what i absolutly don't want :

Simply gorgeous

Joe, you have taken the black piano ?

what kind of cartbridge do you suggest for this TT : ortofon black cadenza or lyra delos/kleos ?

The Cadenza cartridges are superb in this table/arm; go with the black if you want the ultimate level of detail, or the bronze if your system would be better matched with a touch of warmth. I chose the bronze for my Nottingham Dais/Origin Live Enterprise and find it captivating!

I pulled the trigger on the Classic 3 Rosewood with the SDS, antiskating and the Lyra Kleos cartbridge :woot:

Congratulations Frank!

Awesome choice. Mine is walnut. Rosewood would have been much more beautiful.
