I need to borrow the Klimax again ... I beive the one I had was an earlier model. The new, upgraded one is said to sound even better.

Adam, the new Klimax will indeed sound better !! When I had my earlier Akutate DS upgraded with the new board there was a noticeable improvement in sound quality.
