Clarisys Setup Vienna

Nice setup. Hope Florian has a good show.

PS - Tough room to get good sound with all that glass.

I was just thinking the same thing. I wonder how much rolling those electric shades down would help..

Regardless, that is one mind-blowing setup.

The room is actually very good. The glass is massively thick; its like a normal wall. The ceiling is an acoustic ceiling. We bought carpets; and i brought all my acoustic modules. Very good RT60 times; and a nice -5db smooth 22Hz to 21KHz response; which of course some deaf reviewers didnt hear. Go figure :-) Trust me on this, when i do a Clarisys Setup; i leave nothing to chance. Except for the Aries equipment, all of this stuff is my own and i brought close to 6 metric tons.

The nice piece is that it was an incredible show and we didnt suffer from the horrible acoustic from the main event with their paper walls and sound leakage. The amps were Aries Cerat Vulcans, which are very nice by the way. We had save limits on the amps; next year we will increase those a bit. Stavros and i had a great time and very cool exchanges.

Tom Martin, owner of TAS and HiFi + gave us two best of show awards; one for the Aria Setup and another one for the Auditorium setup. I love that; because he doesnt get free equipment and is not bribed like Harley and Valin. So it actually means something to me.

By all reports, it was outstanding sound. Florian, can you talk a little about the building Clarisys was in with all the other manufacturers and what it means for the future?

Glad it worked out well Florian. That room with so much glass, regardless of thickness, required acoustic treatments which you did employ.

Also, the Clarisys have demonstrated that they are quite flexible with power. You have had outstanding results with VAC, Soulution, Pass and Aries Cerat to name just a few brands. Congratulations!

To answer that, it helps to understand a bit of the background.

The High End Society is a German industry organization whose membership includes many major German manufacturers, distributors, and long-established industry participants. For the 2025 event, we invested heavily in our presence, spending close to €75,000 on a large exhibition room for the Clarisys Audio Atrium system. Stavros from Aries Cerat made a similarly significant commitment.

When registration opened for Vienna 2026, we applied immediately for a large room. However, we later received an automated rejection stating that the show had to reduce the number of exhibitors. Around the same time, several industry participants, including Aries Cerat, encountered similar challenges.

Rather than viewing this as a setback, it became an opportunity.

Stavros had already begun developing an alternative concept: a highly curated exhibition environment focused on quality rather than quantity. He invited Clarisys Audio to join what became the XClusive Show, and we gladly accepted.

The idea is simple. Instead of hundreds of exhibitors competing for attention in acoustically compromised hotel rooms and exhibition spaces, the XClusive Show focuses on a limited number of carefully selected exhibitors presenting world-class systems in properly prepared environments. The emphasis is on serious music lovers, customers, and industry professionals who genuinely want to experience the best that high-end audio can offer.

In our view, this approach was an overwhelming success. The atmosphere was relaxed, the rooms were thoughtfully prepared, the acoustics were significantly better controlled, and visitors could spend meaningful time listening rather than rushing from room to room.

By comparison, many of the rooms at the main exhibition suffered from inherent acoustic challenges, including large air handling systems, difficult room dimensions, significant sound leakage between rooms, and limited opportunities for proper setup. For products as revealing and demanding as the Clarisys Audio systems, the listening environment is simply too important to leave to chance.

Most importantly, what began as a professional collaboration between Aries Cerat and Clarisys Audio has developed into a genuine friendship built on shared values, engineering passion, and a commitment to musical excellence.

As things stand today, Clarisys Audio will be part of the XClusive Show for the foreseeable future, and we believe this concept represents an exciting direction for the future of ultra-high-end audio demonstrations: fewer rooms, better systems, better acoustics, and more meaningful experiences for the people who matter most—the listeners.

Kudos for calling it what it is despite the risks of being ignored or denigrated by those being named by a "periodical" so many of your competitors depend on.

I wasn't there, but I get Florian's point.

Thank you! Ah yes, they already tried to cancel us. A big shot USA reviewer called Stavros from Aries Cerat and tried to bully him into not working with us. Stavros is to intelligent and to independant for that, as he also doesnt give away free equipment or unlimited loans. There is a new movement coming and the time of these unethical reviewers are coming to and end. I made a social media bet who Harley would pick for "Best of Show"; and i was right. The speakers he got for free in his home. And Valin gave it to Soulution and MBL; again, products he gets for free in his home. It is all so laughablly stupid. Ah well, its a matter of 5 to 10 years until they are gone, so no worries. Cheers Florian PS: Harley, at the last day of the show, right before tear down went to Stavros in our XClusive Show; saw me, and never came up to our room. LOL ...

Out of curiosity (Not cynical). Have never heard Clarysis speakers before, and yet to hear any electrostatic speakers.
But was wondering if this massive looking system can handle rock/metal music?
Say, Foo fighters - 'All my life' from the album One by one.
Or, Alice in chains - Black Gives way to blue. 2 well recorded albums by a brilliant record producer/sound engineer -Nick Raskulinecz.
Can it handle a meaty sound with heavy bass, and lots of guitar distortion? can you feel the music in your gut?

I can say they definitely do “rock” very very well. Other panel speakers do struggle with “rock” but Clarisys speakers don’t seem to have this problem.

Definitely give them a listen when you get the chance.
