Christmas is just around the corner, so what's on your list?

From now through the first of next year is always an exciting time. The season changes and some great holidays are just around the corner to celebrate with family and friends. Christmas is in the air and gift shopping is fun. Audiophiles are tough to shop for since our wish lists are usually filled with items unfamiliar to non-audiophiles, and worse yet they are often expensive. What's an audiophile to do? My answer is to go shopping for myself.

This year my Christmas wish list is relatively short, mostly because I already have three fine systems. This year I want to replace my Oppo BDP-95 in the home theater system with the new BDP-105D. I am also thinking about upgrading to a 65" 4K Sony XBR display to replace my 52" 1080p Sony XBR display in the home theater system. Ho, Ho, Ho!

So what's on your audiophile list for Christmas?
 
@Dan. My eye has been on the Astell & Kern AK500N. I know you are a fan of the design [sarcasm] and to be honest, I am not either. I am a fan of their logic, though -- and as you know, I have several of there portable devices. I suspect that the unit has not been a hit because of the design. For me, the motor under the hood is simple, stable and a pleasure to use.

If I close my eyes, there's no place like home...right?

I still lust for the unit though. I am glad I have waited to purchase since it's debut because the price tag on that baby has dropped 46%. So rather than nearly 18K, I can now snag it for around 9k.

I also have my eye on another portable, which is just ridiculous. The AK380. I have no rhyme or reason for the desire. I simply want it - makes no sense, to be honest. [Collector of gadgets]

I'd love an Esoteric G-01 Master Clock but I'm not sure if it will fit in my stocking. :D

I did a early buy of two more decent i subs and I may pick up a second power conditioner a few power cords
