Automatic software update isn't an option for the network module. You will only be told there is an update available. To run the update you have to choose so.

Hi Guys,
I ve updated mine N05-XD yesterday via sound stream app but somehow my net version is 17 something, not 19.
Did they roll back?
Also, is anyone now able to do qobuz connect(is out since 05/05) ? i dont, even disabling raat mode to normal mode...

Hi again.
trying to update my n-05xd with last firmware with a micro usb cable.
all seemed to update but now the unit does not turn on... any idea or thing to try?

UPDATE: after 6 consecutive repetitions of installing 2.15 firmware it finally wake up.
honestly, its not the average user who can update this unit, so many steps in a specific order, easy to something get messed up.

We’ve had a steady flow of Esoteric streamers coming in to be fixed due to the firmware glitch. I had to buy a windows PC (this burned me the most - I’m a Mac guy!) and a special cable. Ugh. But we have been 100% successful.
Hope they get the firmware stuff fixed soon or I’m going to start billing for my time! LOL.

You would think they would fix the update not to mess things up by now. It would be nice if I waited long enough to update I wouldn't have to deal with having mine fixed.

Thanks to Mike and Tim at Suncoast Audio. They updated the firmware on my Esoteric as it went down again. Working great again.
I’m so surprised with Lumin and Esoteric. In my many years of owning both brands, all software updates have gone without a hitch. Actually, I’ve always praised them for the reliability and ease of use. Clearly, an exception with this last update but one that has caused some frustration by quite a few owners. I hope they will do a correction of errors action.

Do they do their own software or is it farmed out? I'd be curios to know as maybe they switched vendors if it is farmed out.

Esoteric leverages Lumin software on their Streamers/Servers. However, I don’t know if all of the software is done internally at Lumin or farmed out to a 3rd party. Regardless, they’ve been extremely reliable through the years.
