Has anybody used a cable cooker type device?

I know Nordost has a device that dealers have. I was talking to a dealer that has one and he was saying that even broke in cables sound better if he uses the cooker ever 6-9 months even tho they are in a system.

I had never heard of that before.

Does anybody know?

I have a Audioharma cable cooker, I think ver. 2.5. I think it really does work. I'll post a link when I can. They made some changes to mine like a bigger frequency sweep. The one the Nordost dealer uses is supposed to be maybe even a little more powerful.

I use the Audioharma 3.5 anniversary version and it does a great job.....re-cooking the cables seems to rejuvenate the cables a smidge, sort of like cleaning connectors.

Here is mine

EFS CIRCUIT & FULL CRYOGENIC TREATMENT
After many years of outstanding performance, we pushed the design envelope
and configured a perfectly linear, extended frequency sweep circuit (EFS) that more than doubles
the previous sweep at both ends of the spectrum....quite an achievement.
The EFS, of course, compliments the high voltage / high current components of the signal.

The swept square wave starts at 0 DC and is calibrated at just over 40KHz,
whereas the previous sweep (for version 2.5) started just below 40Hz and reached 18.5KHz.

The Extended Frequency Sweep (EFS) improves on every sonic parameter,
translating into more transparency and dimensionality, a deeper/wider soundstage,
and deeper / tighter bass information.

Full cryogenic treatment of the circuit board, all chassis connectors, switches, and internal wiring
is included with all Standard Plus 3.5 and Anniversary Edition 3.5 models.

Note: this cryogenic treatment is also available as an upgrade for all Cable Cooker 2.0 & 2.5 owners.
It is as sonically significant as the EFS circuit upgrade, and the benefits are cumulative (click on Upgrade tab above).

All Cable Cookers come complete with an outboard universal switching power supply,
one set of power cable break-in adaptors (US-style for US customers), one power cable extension adaptor
(for daisy-chaining, US-style), and 3 pairs of RCA barrel connectors (for daisy-chaining RCA interconnects).

UK13 and Schuko-style power cable adaptors are extra for all orders.

Version 2.5 units may also be upgraded with Cardas ACBP binding posts ($175 including labor and re-termination).
The premium all-copper billet Cardas CCGR's are an additional $100 option.
(see Upgrade tab and close-up pictures at top of page)

Do they make one that does AC too?

They have adapters that plug into the binding posts that terminates to an AC connector....plus they have adapters to daisy chain so you can cook multiples at one time.

The phono cable adapter is a must have......because the tone arm wiring and phono cable really never breaks in completely because of the tiny signal in the analog chain. You really haven't heard your phono cable and tonearm wiring at its fullest potential.....they really never completely settle in with out cooking them!

Ok. Email me price for everything.

At first I was wondering if I should post here (mainly for the girls members); now I don't anymore. ;)

Are there cable manufacturers selling already "cooked" cables? :)

LMAO. They apparently have pills for that now Bob.
