B&W 800 D4 series announced

For what I can hear, in that video, the 802 D3 sounds better, specially in the mid range. More body, more presence, more natural...
 
I use YouTube videos to critically evaluate all my future audio purchases... :evil:
 
The 801 D4 received a very positive review with a test score 92 in the latest issue of Hifi News. This high score is rare indeed for Hifi News.

I suspect Hifi News have a slight bias towards British products in general and B&W speakers in particular. At the same time, as a previous owner of the 802 D3's, I believe that the bigger B&W speakers are a bit under appreciated in the rest of the world. Take your pick, but the review is a good read.
 
They gave the same score to the 800 D3.
As a British publication, they probably are a little biased, but they are indeed great speakers, although not easy to exploit in full.

Mike, I've bought enough new speakers etc to know by now.... I always bought a 5 bedroom house for 2 people because one room was for the "toilet paper" & the other was the stereo room! That leaves a spare room & a bedroom each :)
