With a host of inputs, it will play almost all digital formats except the physical SACD disc. Very much trouble free once setup and installed.

I think Andre did the Ayon justice in his review and I did get a chance to hear it at Andre's house playing both PCM and DSD files. With the inclusion of a CD transport and all of its inputs and outputs, it's sort of the Swiss Army Knife of digital audio.

When I wanted to upgrade from my Oppo I considered getting an Ayon CD-5 with a new transport but decided to go with an external DAC and music server instead. They cost about the same (used) but I wanted the flexibility of a music server/streamer and a newer DAC. I still wonder about the Ayon CD-5, though. I am sure the Ayon CD-3sx would be even better.
