well i been trying out some cables from our own mike (mikech). i got a pair of speaker cables 3ft long to replace my way too long granite cables. a 2m pair of interconnects. and a 2m power cable.
first off they are very reasonably priced and really well made .
the spades on the speaker cables are really nice thick ones. the connectors on the ic's are nice as well, and with nice furutech connectors on the pc it is probably the most impressive cable in the bunch.
these were conditioned by mike and it seemed break-in was minimal.
the power cable was an instant upgrade over my other 2 power cords i have here in my hovland and now using it in my phonostage. it was the biggest surprise of the bunch. and im running my cd player(not a very good one) directly through my amps with the axiom volume box and avanti cables and pc, and ive never heard this basicically lame cd player sound so good. lol.
the speaker cables were a slight upgrade(little livelier bass and mid bass) to my granite 570's which btw are 3x's the price of the avantis. the ic i went back and fourth between this avanti and my acoustic zen silver ref2, and i could not hear any difference at all. i did 1 song, then switch cables and did the same song again. like 10 different songs, and i could not hear any difference at all. and again the avanti is 1/4 the price.
plugging everything i mentioned above in at the same time has given my system an upgrade and for less than each cable they replaced.
mike is now making me some banana jumpers for my speakers.
and once i settle on what amp or amps i end up with, i will get more pc's definitely.
