Aurender N10 is installed

The new Aurender N10 music server is installed in the studio sound system making sweet music. I completed the transfer of the music files to the N10 this morning and have been playing with it and enjoying the sound for the past six hours. I used the opportunity to cull the library on the hard drive because I have at least a 100+ CD's I have no interest in any longer. Right now there are 935 CD's and hi-res music files on the N10 hard drive. I may never reach the 4TB storage capacity limit of my N10.

I am absolutely ecstatic to have the N10 in the studio sound system. No more laptop, no more Olive 04HD, just the Aurender N10 making beautiful music. The Aurender Conductor app is smooth, intuitive, and responsive. Tidal hi-fi streaming integrates seamlessly and sounds impressive. It is a joy to scroll through my music library, viewing the cover art, and building playlists. The operating system is swift to respond to commands from the iPad, and the N10's operating system works flawlessly. Talk about an early Christmas present, the Aurender N10 is amazing.

I now have the N10 set on Repeat, playing a playlist over and over to speed the break-in process. I'll let it continue playing 24/7 until I reach 150 to 200 hours, then I will begin a serious audition and write my official review. For now I am having a blast learning the app and listening to the Aurender N10. It is a class act. A big thanks to Mike and Suncoast Audio for helping me make this dream come true.

It does look awesome. Can't wait for your update. I know Mike loves it and I'm sure it sounds wonderful.

Joe.......I think Mike tipped the scale when he told me he had two Aurender N10 servers and said they would be the very last components to leave his systems. I trust Mike's experience and that comment carried some weight.

I am approaching 12 hours break-in on my N10 and it is sounding very liquid and rich. I am surprised it sounds so good with so few hours on its internal parts. I can already tell it surpasses the performance of my Sony Vaio laptop with the Wyred 4 Sound Recovery on the USB cable, and the same can be said about the Olive 04HD music server. They are not in the same league with the Aurender N10. I am extremely impressed and confident the performance will only get better with a few hundred hours of break-in time behind it.

If you have a good USB cable and an Aurender the W4S Recovery is just getting in the way. I removed mine once I put in the Curious USB.

Kuoppis.......I am not using the USB output from the Aurender N10. If I were to use it, I would not deploy the Wyred 4 Sound Recovery in the USB signal path. I do have a very good Wireworld Platinum USB cable and will most likely give the N10 USB output a listen at some point in the future, but my preference is for the digital coaxial output that makes use of the oven controlled crystal oscillator. If I were only interested in USB output, I would have purchased the Aurender N100H.

Good point there, I guess you might have more cable options to mold the sound with a coax connection.

As a Meitner DAC owner I guess I should belive in what Andreas Koch says and his personal view is that USB always sounds better than SPDIF, because in USB the DAC is clock master, while in SPDIF mode the clock is generated by the connected source, which is usually not as good.

PS: I find that 'always' a bit strong, but that was a quote from the IPS-3 review in Stereo.net.

Thanks Dan. The Aurender is definitely on my list should my dac choice change. My Lumin S1 is all in one right now, but I am looking toward the future when adding a new dac to the system. The N10 could be the answer for me.

Congratulations on the Aurender N10. When my Meridian life span is over, I shall procure one. Only thing is I must know how to transfer 4TB of FLAC (Meridian flavoured - if there's such a thing as I don't know FLAC is FLAC) to Aurender. Meanwhile, I will read learn from your experience and journey.

It is easy : on C15 select all (pencil right bottom corner) and export all in their 'native' format.

Then drag all to N10.

Don't wait - N10 is miles better than C15.

Jerry.......Thank you. I agree with the post above from member ikarus_ct. The Aurender N10 is an exceptional audio component. I was up until 2:00 AM last night listening to the N10. Even with just 12 hours of break-in the music was astonishingly clean and pure. The iPad Conductor app makes it easy to navigate and it is attractive to look at. The entire Aurender N10 package is very slick. You need an N10 in your system.
 
Congrats, I love the N10. An amazing player it is.

And if you end up using up all 4tb's, It's very easy to upgrade it to 8tb!

Mark.......Thank you. It would take a music collection considerably larger than my 1000 CD and hi-res library compressed to flac files before I run out of storage capacity. It is good to know the 8TB upgrade is easy to perform should I need to go there.

I am listening to the Aurender N10 right now in the studio system. It now has approximately 58 hours of break-in logged. It is sounding sooooo good.

Ken.......Thank you. The break-in is progressing nicely. I have 73 hours on the Aurender N10 right now.. That is about half of what I want before I get serious about auditioning the N10 and writing a review of it. That cat is already out of the bag, though. The N10 is a fabulous music server. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in the slightest with this level of digital performance. The Aurender N10 and a premium DAC represents high-end audio at its best.

Hope that shoulder is mending.
