Any thoughts on the difference in sound quality and features?

Thanks,
Ken

I have/had both. The Aurender BQ is second to none. The Aurender app is quite a bit better than the Auralic app. Sonically? The Aurender ONCE BROKEN IN, sounds quite a bit better. Better separation. Deeper sound stage. Less "edge".

BUT - let's remember, the Aurender is more expensive. I guess you get what you pay for.

Thanks Mike. What is BQ?

Build quality.

Thanks. How does the sound quality of the N10, X100 and N100H compare? Are there any advantages of buying an N10 if you go USB only?

Thanks again,
Ken

Ken, the N10 is more a piece sonically. It has an edge on the N100H sonically. Better separation, bigger soundstage, etc. Again, if someone is looking for better...law of diminishing returns. But the N10 is in my reference system and going no where.

Thanks Mike! You have the N10 or N100H?

Best,

Well said Mike.

Although nowhere near the BQ and the app is clearly not as good, the Aries is $1000 less has digital outs and still sounds damn good.

If you can afford the extra $1000, buy the Aurender. If not the Aries is a fine product and worth every penny.

I concur with Mike. Just had the chance to compare the N100H, N10 and Auralic Aries.

At first, I was quite shocked when, on some songs, the Aries was better, more gripping, than the Aurender, that was overall, smoother. With a simple vocal track, the "edge", as Mike put it, might make it seem more transparent, but once you add instrumentation, the Aurender is plain more natural and relaxed sounding.

Again, not a slight on the Aries, it's a fantastic piece for, and, for the price, I don't know anything better, or more convenient.

I just disagree with Mike on the apps. I find the Aurender app very ugly, non-intuitive and clunky, yet fast and generally bug-free. The Aurender app, OTOH, is prettier, but it's slow, and quite buggy too. The ideal app would have the UI of the Auralic app, and the stability and speed of the Aurender one :)

We're also keeping an N10 in the store, in one of the reference systems. It's that good :)

Funny I think the app is the thing I most prefer about the Aurender over the Aries.

As they say to each their own!
