AudioQuest Niagra and Storm Power Cable Review

What are your experiences in burn-in time of HC power cables (I am using two Thunder for Devialet mono amps). How long does it take and to what extend will it improve performance?

Most of the midrange and treble burn-in is done after 200 hours. But I noticed the bass continued to fill in and improve up to 500 hours.

Ah thanks! Because I really felt bass is clumsy and midrange / treble quite stiff. Is that the normal behavior? Meaning should the starting performance be already better?

I would give them 500 hours before you make any sort of evaluation.

Thank you for the input. Will listening at higher volume accelerate things? Or is it just a matter of time. Btw the most striking difference in the feel that things are not quite right is the perception of unbalanced frequencies / disharmonics.

An AQ dealer sold me a "new" 2 .0M NRG HURRICANE HC EU IEC15 . When I unpacked it, I saw that it was red. Are there any differences between red and blue? Do they have different UPC/EAN codes? I just saw, that the picture of the hurricane on the back of the packaging is blue and there is also a picture of a red firebird? Why does AQ tell me, there is the "NRG" in the name of the cable? Is it or was it? The pictures of the AQ website in the beginning of this thread say for the red Hurricane EU connector: cold welded connectors. For the blue Hurricane US connector it says: hanging silver over red copper?
Thanks Dirk

IIRC the original Hurricanes had red jackets. AQ switched to blue jackets (what I bought) before coming out with Firebirds, which had red jackets like the original Hurricanes.

As far as I can see, it doesn't say "high current" anywhere on the red cable. How do I know it is the high current version? I have to weigh the cable?
