I have spent a lot of time on the competing forum before moving over here. I still participate some over there but one of the things on Forums in general that really aggravates me is people spreading their "reviews" on items they have not heard. This is also true of audio drive by's at shows and audio telephone - when someone tells you something that they heard through a third party and it ends up as a BS story on the forum.
If you have not experienced something why is it necessary to make "factual" statements based on a lie?
If you hear something at a show for a song or two in a room you don't know, on a system you don't own, playing music you probably aren't familiar with maybe enjoy it as a precursor for further investigate rather than speak as if its a law on the tablets of the ten commandments!
We all want to learn. We all have various and different experience that is and can be interesting and valuable, I know I have a lot of it but I certainly can't scratch the surface with all the gear and combinations of gear that is out there.
Let us respect each other and not try to impress each other with stuff we know little or nothing about. Just because you own it, or like it, or heard it does not mean its the best! Its great that you have stuff you enjoy but if there is one thing I have learned in this is that people are at very different levels and these levels do vary greatly.
One example is the Pizza Principle
Public - has frozen pizza
Domino's, Papa John's , Pizza hut, Costco all sell Pizza
Hundreds of Pizzeria's and Italian restaurants make Pizza, we have wood burning, coal fired and all kinds of great gourmet pizza makers, we have Dave Portnoy traveling the world reviewing them so...
Its all pizza but it aint the same!
