Im using an Audience aR6-TSS Power Conditioner since last year Summer and I just love it. Everytime after I use it, I will switch it off, but Audiences dealer told me unless Im not at home for a long period. Otherwise, I better to turn it on continually everyday without switch it off. Otherwise, the switch may worn out later if I turn it on and off everyday.I dont feel safe if I switch it on continually, especially when I left home to work. So what is the correct answer?
BTW, if I to leave my aR6-TSS 'ON' at all times, can I put a think cloth to cover it? This s is because my home is quite easy to have dust.

Another question is I just heard about aR6-TSSOX, may I know how noticeable the difference in sound quality is between a AR6-TSS and AR6-TSS-OX? What cost to upgrade an aR6-TSS to Ar6-TSSOX? Also how long does it take to do the upgrade work?

You should usually leave power conditioners on full time.

I don't have an answer to your upgrade question, but Audience really needs to stop with the confusing upgrade nomenclature. And their website updates have historically been poor on the subject.

News Release announcing new performance options for the full line of Audience power conditioners.

· Standard improvements in all Audience conditioners are new gold over copper forks connecting the filter capacitors to the outlets. These gold plated forks replace previously used tin plated copper forks. This improvement brings a noticeable degree of refinement in terms of resolution and smoothness. All conditioners made in the last few months have the new forks.

· Whereas this News Release is regarding new options, note that the "all OHNO" (OCC) wire option is now standard in conditioners ordered with the S filter and without price change except in the 12 outlet the price is $200 higher. The all OHNO wire option is one of the biggest performance improvements ever implemented, significantly removing a veil allowing you to hear much more into the music and improving every aspect of sound reproduction.

· Thirdly, and almost as significant as the all OHNO option, are new rhodium over copper power receptacles. If you experienced the upgrade in Audience power cords from e to SE, this is exactly what you can expect from this potent upgrade. The copper receptacles in place of the brass Hubbell hospital outlets, used historically, provide greater conductivity with all that implies, particularly noticeable in speed, resolution and a more pristine sound stage.

· All existing Audience power conditioners are upgradable. For pricing call or email Alex Keller or Joe Flatt at 760-471-0202 (toll free, 800-565-4390 in the US and Canada) or [email protected] and [email protected].

Hi MM622,

I believe I was the second person to have my AR6-TSS upgraded to the AR6-TSSOX. I have noticed some increased speed and dynamics in my system since the upgrade. It also sounds more refined than before. Not a major change but definitely noticeable. The new Cardas outlets they added are terrific. They have tremendous clamping power and the plugs on my AU24SE power cords never wiggle loose.

Best,
Ken

Because I’m already using Furutech GTX-D (Rhodium plated) Receptacles on my wall, not sure if worth to do this upgrade. Audience’s distributor said it take about 2 to 3 weeks to receive my power conditioner back for this upgrade process. And they can borrow me a Ar6-TSSOX for temporary use before I receive my power conditioner back. I will go to listen to a Non-OX and OX version product two weeks ago then think about it. If the sound quality improvement is not really noticeable, most likely I won’t do this because the upgrade charges is about USD 1545!

Hi MM,

I'm not sure I understand the relevance of why having a Furutech GTX-D wall receptacle would influence your decision of getting or not getting the OX upgrade. What you get with the upgrade is OCC high grade copper wiring throughout the power conditioner, gold plated copper forks connecting the filter caps to the outlets and Cardas' new high clamping power rhodium plated copper duplex outlets on the back of the unit. These changes resulted in a material improvement in speed, dynamics and refinement in my system. Is it worth $1545 for these improvements? Only you can answer that question. For me, the upgrade was definitely worth it but not overwhelmingly so. And after they upgraded mine, it was so much more work than they expected that they raised the upgrade price several hundred dollars.

All the best,
Ken
