Ascending to even greater heights

There is an increased clarity and definition, color separation, white is more white etc., ANSI contrast without distorting or making it look fake-HDR. Extremely transparent picture.

That has been both my wife’s and my experience with all of our OLEDs powered by Denali v2’s. Seeing is believing. Of course, YMMV as with anything.

Everest will be a fantastic upgrade from the HMS. What cable will you run to the wall and to your integrated/source?

hi crion
at the moment i run a full loom of odin cables. then again i am in process of changing the whole system, apart from the audionet integrated (it is the pure dream of sound).
will sell the nagra soon and probably go for the t&a sd3100. basicly for optical reason, because the slim nagra style looks strange next to the fat audionet. probably going for a bigger wilson speaker. thouse things have priority.
then most likely the everest.
the cabling have the least priority at the moment. once everething new is propperly broken-in, i will try the shunyata line and see what difference they make. sure i would like to feed the everst with the omega. my wife doesnt like the lock of the odin speakercable, so i might spend the cash there once shunyata comes out with a v2 line

Ok, so basically changing everything but the integrated.

I would propose starting with the Everest and the Omega when they are available. My contact with HMS energia products in the past and just briefly looking at the HMS definitiva componentry, there is so much there that can inhibit the current flow.

If you really are changing almost everything your system sound signature will change alot when that HMS comes out of the system. Getting a good baseline with Everest/Omega (maybe a friendly dealer can let you borrow a Denali/Sigma in the meantime) and that will let you know how you like that power foundation change which obviously Everest/Omega will give you more of.

So the only announcement is EVEREST.
The replacement for Typhon QR will come some other time?

Everest appears to be an integrated replacement for Triton + Typhon. Really pleased with this move by Shunyata. I have my Triton v3 sitting on its side behind my system due to lack of space (on a platform but still not ideal) and obviously no room to add a Typhon - this kills two birds with one stone for me. I'm already in line.

All will be revealed in less than a week. Just a little bit longer.

I also have both the Typhon QR and and Triton v3 on their sides. No room anywhere else.

I have an Everest on order, I can't wait till it comes in. I think I ordered it the day it was teased. It's just the perfect fit for my space.

I tried a couple Omegas a couple months ago and was so impressed that I bought a complete loom of those too.

If you have an Everest on order you must know the price, right? But nobody else here seems to know, or if they do know they are not saying.

Hopefully when Everest is available some Typhon QR owners will sell. I would like to buy a Typhon QR, they are difficult to find on the used market. Hopefully Everest will change that.

Impressive Jock! :exciting:

I do not know the price. But over the years I know how Shunyata prices things. I know it will be fair. They always have so it was a good gamble. Anything in the $10-12,000 range is cheaper than the Triton,Typhon (If I remember right) - and it fits in my system. A no brainer.

Thank you Jock for your faith and trust. It is rare that someone would order such an expensive product sight unseen and sound unheard. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed. It seems only fair that you should at least get a look at her.

Hi Caelin,

Congratulations, it’s looking good!

I was wondering what your recommendation is in terms of grounding of an Everest 8000 and of the components its feeding power to?

Thank you.

Cheers,
Bernard

I would suspect that the Everest is grounded when it's plugged into the wall, and everything that is connected to it is also grounded. The grounding post on the back is only used to ground devices not plugged into one of its power outlets.

That looks very good, I was thinking about waiting for a shelf model but maybe one of these would not look out of place after all.
