I am blown away each and every time I walk into an Apple store. If I hint an issue, they fix it.

Over the years I've purchased lots of equipment. Stand practice, I upgrade everything upon release. Apple can rely on me to be an early adopter and to upgrade right along their release cycles. But when I walk into the store, they don't know that.

I have an iMac, G5, Mac Pro, AirBook, two MacBook Pros, three retina displays, 2 cinema displays, more than a dozen airport extremes, Apple Watch, 8 iPads, 4 iPhones [2 dedicated to ATT and 2 dedicated to T-Mobile], and ton of other Apple related products. Oh, I also buy Apple for my folks. I pay for everything for them.

In my years of Apple loyalty. Only thrice have I had an issue and each time. Like today, I brought my Retina Display into the Apple store because of a fault within the display board. Boom! They just hand me a brand new one and beg for forgiveness that the customer is inconvenienced. I nearly had to console the Apple employee that "it's ok" and it's me that is grateful for the unrealistic service. I expected to check the unit in for repair, not walk out with a new device. Oh, and they give me an iTunes gift card because I drove to far away to come to their store.

I know one one in all the world that gives this kind of service. I take that back, Amazon is right up there. Got an issue, they pay of the return postage and THEY SEND YOU A REPLACE BEFORE YOU RETURN YOUR ITEM.

The only person that is right there with Apple and Amazon, is MIKE! You hear that Mike, you rock and as far as I know in the industry, this type of service is your core ethic as well.

For me, service means more to me than price!

OMG. Loyalty for life! [and that means you too Mike]

Thank you so much for your kind words. [emoji173]️

David....Wow! I can't say that I am an Apple hugger of late. I don't mind it though. I salivated at the product when I was a kid having a large working vintage Apple collection pre 1992 in climate controlled storage. I must re-inventory and decide how much of it I want to sell as I do want to thin the collection. A few pieces need further restoration work when I get to it, but most of the collection is quite minty as it has been wrapped in mylar foil and stored well. Some pieces have original boxes. My favourite is an early Lisa 2/5 ex Apple development machine that was originally a Lisa 1. It has many reversible upgrades hanging off it but it is still all original. Inside one of its manuals is a post-it note in Job's handwriting and signed Steve which is pretty cool.

The next favourite is an SE/30 with the greyscale upgrade and 128MB RAM.

You might want to think about putting some of your stuff in long term storage too....

Apple transformed computers into appliances. They made us think about using devices that just work (well, most of the time!) instead of hours of geekdom and frustration. People no longer walk around spouting specifications like video ram, hard drive RPM's and memory speed, they just use their devices. Apple proved the user interface and the user experience are what it's all about.

And look, Mike is a poet too! Mike, well said and in my experience thus far, accurate. I don't need to consider configuration, manuals and all that pre-use burden. On switch and Rock 'N Roll. My words, BOOM!

Amen Mike. My iMac has corrupted & fried internals from lightning about 5 months ago & gradually just bit the dust as things started to fail. I got the shits with it & went & bought a m-soft based notebook & after being with apple since 05 I absolutely hate the bloody thing. Now after a fortnight I have gone back to a macbook pro, I'm a fan of apple, not quite as committed as you Dave, but still am liking their osx.

FYI. Apple updated their MacBook Pro yesterday. Of course, I bought one! Build to order and maxed out.

Dude... you've got some years on me! I usually dump all my Apple for new stuff. I donate my gear to needy kids at some local schools. There are lots of families not as privileged as me. So, it's good Karma. Give...generously.

David - that's very nice of you and I know those kids appreciate it. [emoji106][emoji106]

I do love Apple service and also love Mike. But, David Baskin is one hell of a dealer with GREAT service. I know there are many amazing dealers out there, but he is on another level.

Just my $.02

Great post David. I'm sure all of us can add some more names into the mix regarding good customer service. Mike's a great guy but it may be a little early to be throwing his name around with the likes of Apple and Amazon. :snicker:

Wow! Other companies noted for service at that level:
Schiit Audio
Oppo (from what I hear)

Well, that's two more, yeah, service like that is hard to find these days.

Yes to both, Had a OPPO that eat a BD and didn't give it back. Sent the OPPO back and within two days had a new unit and my BD.

Apple, two Ipads sent in. One hit the tile floor, replaced NO charge, the other one got sat on, and became a curved Ipad replaced NO charge.

To add two manufactures I've received great customer service from; Rogue Audio and Wyred 4 Sound.

Wait a minute, Even though you dropped an iPad and sat on one, Apple just replaced both, no questions asked? Wow! Perhaps that's why an iPad is $400 or more, I don't know, but that is service with a capital S.

Two more huh? Rouge Audio and Wyred 4 Sound....thanks, I'm keeping a list now I think. In a society full of corporations and such that really don't care about the customer or are trying to take customers to the cleaners, it is always nice to know that there are still a few out there doing it right and hats should be off to them and in the end, they will be the survivors. Just fabulous!

I can also confirm the outstanding service provided by OPPO.
I had a 103D fail shortly after purchase...seems it was a bad board....
Oppo did not hesitate one moment and replaced the entire player, asap...
They are the real deal, folks.

You know, come to think of it, I did contact OPPO via telephone a couple of times regarding user manual clarification. Both instances, over-top-interest is making certain my question resolved.

OPPO = Awesome

Thanks for pointing this company out.
