Ha, one more great pair of mono blocks to add to the collection! You have great taste, Joe! Congrats!

The interesting question is what speaker is he planning to buy that needs that kind of power, certainly not the Strad's.

Thank you Allen. Heard Bryston a long time ago and was pleasantly surprised.

You again Joe ? Wow. You are the power amp king !! Love the sounds of 28B. Congrats

Yup. I'm glad to hear that.

I just have a feel that the Strads/Bryston 28bsst2 combo could be wonderful. Plus, I have heard from reliable sources that when they heard the pairing, thought it was awesome. It's an itch that I need to scratch, maybe retirement amps :D

PMC ! Especially IB or MB series

Not really looking right now, but you never know.

I thought he was looking at the LV's or the Nola's.

Could be tempted by a pair of LV with ext. crossover but not an overriding obsession yet.

Oh, you mean Joe ? Who knows ! LOL.

My Martin Logan Spires are 4 ohm speakers. The 28B-SST2s handle them without a sweat.

Of course they do. The issue is they can be fried. I know that from experience with Pass X600.5 and Magico S5. I could not believe how good they sounded, and then they stopped working. Not a single audible clue, other than SPL level, it was too much power.

Awesome! Glad you like the amps. I believe they do not get "enough" respect.

Fortunately, my ears give out before my gear does. I almost never crank my system. It just hurts too much. Most of my listening is late night through early morning.

The Bryston 28BSST2's are amazing amps. Smooth, slightly sweet on top, full and prodigious bass, wonderful 3D from my Lampizator dac direct, open and clear with zero harshness or glare. They take full control of my Strads. Bryston, these amps are a home run.

Man, I've read nothing but great things about the 28 BSST2's. Who knows, maybe Joe will hold onto them for more than a couple seconds.. :D

I'd be curious whether anyone has compared the sound quality of their 7BSST² amps to the 28BSST²? They still have more than enough power for most systems and are significantly less expensive. TIA to anyone who can provide any perspective on this comparison.

Joe, I'd also be interested in your thoughts on how the 28BSST² amps compare to the Hegel H30 that I believe you previously owned. Thanks very kindly!
