Any Tape Deck guys out there?

No one really knows and it's all speculation right now (there's a good thread on WBF regarding Mikey's post). The best bet right now is Revox. Nagra has said they won't be making a machine and there's ots of reasons, not the least of which all the drawings are gone, that Studer will resurrect their R2R machines.

Also some might have missed but there are even more companies now producting tapes and were shown in Munich.

Do you know if there is a list of new software suppliers that were promoting their tapes at the Munich show?
I agree with your comments on this and other threads and at Axpona's panel discussion, that we (Reel enthusiasts) need to support these companies that are putting out tape.

That would certainly help. :)

I don't have a list though have been in sporadic touch with Volker Lange at analog-audio.eu. Am also waiting to hear more from Kevin Berg about the Fone tapes. Not sure if there was one other from the European side. Plus hopefully the new Lynn Stanley release will also be available on R2R.
 
Allen, i use a nagra iv-s in my system but am working on tweaking a nagra t for 10" reels.

I'm hot rodding it to only play 15ips and IEC equalization since that seems to be where the master tape copies are made in.

Tonight as I was buying a tape from Sweden my wife ask me what I was doing texting overseas and I told her buying a direct copy of a master tape. She looks at me and asks - "how are you going" and then stops herself and then continued "when is the tape deck going to show up" It was almost as good as when Mike was asking what color he should get the Alexia's and his wife said "why don't you ask the guy you are going to sell them to" They know us too well!!!

Ki is actually supplying a functioning t audio to me but it is missing several parts/accessories. I have been collecting the remaining parts to complete the machine. Would love to know more about Charlie's tapehead pre but not there yet. Ki has set up the unit to switch from internal pre or external pre for future options.

Congrats. I ordered my UHA Phase 11S-OPS (Silver) in April. I am expecting a late June delivery. You made a great choice.
