And then there's this....

We saw in at the end of May when he opened for Brandi Carlile at the Royal Oak Music Theater. Some good songs but his sound was crappy which is often the case with opening acts.

It must be done on purpose so the opening act won't steal the show from the headliner.

+1

If I wanted to listen to this sort of thing I'd be watching American Idol for my entertainment.

BTW, American Idol has some superb vocalists and some stunning performances every year. I don't rule out any avenues to introduce me to a great artist or some great music. I try to judge every artist and recording on it's own merits with an open attitude. Every genre has something great to offer and unlikely sources often produce wonderful new musical discoveries. Ruling something out simply because it's beneath me or not cool enough is not my style. But that's just me...

Jax, you said "...just shut up and buy it." what sort of reaction did you expect?

I find there are certain types of music buyers: 1) those that mostly collect and listen to music of their youth/early adulthood. 2) Those that mostly collect and listen to current music but still listen to oldies. 3) people like you that apparently only listen to the very newest artist that have yet to be vetted by the test of time and not yet appreciated.
