Amp for Wilson Maxx 2’s

Prefer VAC to any of those tube amps , i would do Boulder over DAG for sure , pre amp of choice would make the difference for locked in sound ..!

Boulder or VAC …!
You had opportunity to listen Wilson with VAC? how was that combo? I have never seen Wilson pairing with VAC at any shows or Wilson owners using this combo.

Also What was difference between Boulder vs. Dag with Wilson?

There are a lot of reasons brands are matched at a show. Actual synergy is way down on the list if at all. Unfortunately.

I've heard VAC with some great speakers I wouldn't see any reason the combo wouldn't work.

I personally tried to stay with brands I've heard with Wilson but I'd bet Infigo or Karan Acoustics would be fabulous.

Speakers often have quirks other than what you see on paper, paper shows the Max 2 is efficient and 4 ohms with a said 3 ohm minimum. So careful matching would be needed if going with tubes.

Hopefully you are not insinuating Boulder and D'Agostino sound the same. There are differences I'm not going to try to put them into words. They have similarities in both having good bass, very clean and transparent, power houses.

One of the best systems I heard with Boulder was last year's Axpona I just can't remember if it was with Wilson or Rockport, both were there I only heard one I'm leaning to the Rockport room.

Never heard WA with VAC , but i have heard all three toob amps listed on multiple different speakers so have some experience with them , my choice would be VAC over AR and VTL ..

I did Compare VTL and DAG on WA and preferred the VTL , but this was some generations ago DAG .

Heard many WA combinations with DAG , not a fan ..

Boulder over DAG , Boulder way better drive and accuracy , both amps would sound like their pre amps not like others which add warmth and color..!

Boulder and or VAC for sure …

Just in general and my opinion, like arm pits, if I was offered either Boulder or D'Ag my choice would be D'Ag.. D'Agostino has only what I can describe as a solidity that sways me. TBH there's amps I prefer over either.
