I could not resist and bought one of these. It's a Goldmund designed circuit.

The new JOB 225

JOB225small.jpg
Job225prod.jpg

The latest addition to the JOB amplifiers family is by far the most advanced amplifier ever designed by JOB.
It represents the hottest "Value" existing today for an audiophile.
The JOB 225 is a Stereo unit of 2 x 125W Power in a reasonably small chassis.
Totally protected, easy to use, perfectly silent, it is THE amplifier for an audiophile who is conscious of his budget but demanding the absolute best of the world in sonic quality.
With its extraordinary dynamic capability and its unconditional stability, it can drive anything.
More, with the JOB proprietary "Ultra-Control" of the speaker, any speaker even a large one will sound better when used with the JOB 225.
With extremely low distortion, especially IM distortion, literally zero group delay distortion, ultra-wide MegaHerz bandwidth and DC coupling, extreme silence and cool operation, it can be played at high level with the same impression of ease than at low levels.
Thanks to the JOB Elecronics large scale of operation on power amplifiers, the JOB 225 is also offered at a realistic price, where high-end audio manufacturers would charge $6'000 or $15'000 if the same amplifier were sold through the traditionnal channels.

The new JOB Sweetcord

Our new JOB 225 is so accurate and transparent that first users immediately reported their trial of various Powercords were making a big change in its sound quality. In order to allow the amplifier to be used at its maximum without a too costly exotic powercord we address the demand using the famous Goldmund Powercord they allowed us to copy. The sweetcord incorporates the smallest AC-Curator circuit ever achieved and share with its prestigious parent the special wire made for Goldmund by a well-kept-secret factory since 1987. With the standard length of 8'5" and Medical grade plugs, the Sweetcord is a wonderful addition to the JOB amplifiers, and reasonable cost audio device, as everything made by JOB.

yesterday I began my serious listerning with the Merrill Veritas Twin with my CR-1. A full day of critical listening. Sunday I will compare to New Rowland 525. I think I can safely say my CR-1 r very finicky in terms of what brings out its tremendous full talent. Merrill, Tad m2500, rowland 201 and other class D seem to not b the correct amp for these speakers. The emotional impact and life just is not there. My new short list is now Vitus rs-100, Lindemann 858(heard 855 really impressed) or back to Viola Symphony. Perhaps the Rowland 525 with its Danish Pascal module will b a pleasant surprise. I hope you enjoy your new JOB regards,
Nick

Wow! You're as bad as Joe!

Nick,

The Job amp is a Class AB design so it should be very interesting. I think we may be very surprised. So far my Dartzeel and Dag Momentum amps are stellar on my TADs. I'd like to hear Constellation and Viola at some point.

"The Job website of course spelled out the basic specs. 125wpc stereo amp. ±15% over/under voltage tolerance centered on 117V. They claim that sold through regular high-end retail channels, the same circuit dressed up in fancy threads would go for $6.000 to $15.000. Since Goldmund had sold a very similar circuit, those were likely actual figures. And there was more. 10Hz-100kHz bandwidth ±0.5dB. Relaxed to ±3dB this becomes 2Hz-900kHz. Input sensitivity for full rated output 0.75V. Input impedance 51kΩ. Slew rate better than 60V/ms. Rise time less than 200ns. Propagation delay better than 80ns from 2Hz-200kHz. Noise exceeding -100dB A-weighted. Power supplies following the single power toroid in dual mono. Max power consumption for this obviously class AB circuit 450 watts. Internal operational temps 45°-65°C. Weight 15.4lbs, dimensions 11.8 x 11.2 x 2.4" WxDxH. Dark grey anodized finish. Plenty of screw heads visible. Heat sinks out the back. Power rocker on the front. Iron curtain Soviet chic. At Zhiguli/Lada pricing too."

I read that review a couple of weeks ago.
Seems like a killer amp for a killer price.
Congrats!

I am sure it will kill more expensive amps. I should know in a week or two.

Sounds like the amps de jour that has filled the pages of SixMoons for years. Joe they seem to be the answer to a question you did not need answered.

This may be true, but I have a friend who is downsizing his system and I think this amp will be perfect for him. I bought it with the intention that he may end up with it for his system. It's always fun to try something new/different.

You're the man Joe. You already have this sold before you even get it in! Who else can do that?!!! :D

Watch close and I'll teach you ;)

I can't wait to play with the amp. If I am lucky it will arrive the same time as my Dag preamp. :exciting:

Awesome find, Joe! Seems like a diamond in the rough! I cannot wait to hear what you think of it!
